New wrestling documentary, Hall promo, Interviews with Coach/Australian prospect/Dreamer/JR/Credible, Gunner vs. $5 Wrestling, Smackdown audience, Rhodes update, more on WWE-Spain and Questions on "burying" Bryan, bullying stories, Axel, and the HHH/Orton angle

There's a new wrestling documentary in the works called "The Promoter", focusing on Canada's Tony Condello. Edge was among those interviewed for it.

Scott Hall put on a promo for his appearance at Border City Wrestling. >2013. >the nWo is still a thing. Somehow I don't think we'll see Aces and Eights take over an event in 2030.

Jonathan Coachman talked to ESPN Magazine about Darren Young coming out, bringing up Pat Patterson. I wonder if Pat would have still won that tournament in Brazil if he was out.

A top Australian amateur wrestler briefly mentioned WWE aspirations. I think it'd be good for BUSINESS for Haitch to give her a look if she's still interested.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Tommy Dreamer talked about overcoming the odds to be successful. Pretty cool story. Perfect for a babyface. It's nice that some fans are really respectful of him, and amazing that he's such a caring guy.

Jim Ross talked about the demise of WCW and Paul Heyman. He makes a good point about ratings and competition, as well as the end of WCW. What IF Heyman and/or JR were running TNA instead of Hogan and Bischoff?

TNA Tag Team Champion Gunner took shots at $5 Wrestling, leading to some heated back-and-forth. I honestly haven't seen nearly enough $5 Wrestling to know if it's as serious of an affront to THIS BUSINESS as Gunner thinks it is. Obviously, a lot of people disagreed with his assessment.

Justin Credible talked about heat, heels, babyfaces, etc.. I still love Al Snow's metaphor about faces and heels. Great comments about pacing. It does seem like so many of today's stars just go full-out with big moves all the time. It's great in small doses, but I don't think it's something everyone should be trying to do.

The last Smackdown did 2.47 million viewers, down significantly from the last 2 weeks. Maybe they're watering down the top angle by having it across both shows every week?

Daniel Bryan, RVD, AJ Lee and Kaitlyn will be at the 10th Anniversary of Ringsidefest. I'd love to meet all of them.

Goldust did an interview before Raw. You know a story's done well when people want to see a mostly-retired guy with such a bizarre (but well-played!) gimmick come back. I'm ok with them calling him Dustin Rhodes as part of the angle. As long as they don't use his shoot name, it's fine to play a little loose with the character.

Cody Rhodes will be married on 9/26 before going on a honeymoon. No word on when he'll be back. I hope he's super-over when he returns and I do hope they do the Midnight Rider takeoff.

The channel that showed Raw in Spain has shut down, which was a factor in WWE not touring there.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I don't see them "burying" him. If being involved with some of the top acts in the company and chasing for the WWE Title while picking up wins and being protected in losses is a burial, I can see guys lining up to be "buried". I'm not naive enough to think that it will go perfectly, but I'm not so sure that they'll throw Bryan under a bus. They can definitely screw up his push, though. They do that.

2. Yeah, that's pretty much how stories go. It's not even just a wrestling trope. One thing people complained about with Metroid games was that seemingly every game began with something taking the previously powered-up Samus and somehow taking her weapons away or something so she has to go through the process of gaining upgrades and such all over again. But what kind of game would there be if she already had all of the powers she needed to beat just about everyone? Other than Other M.

3. Ideally, the characters who are presented as positive role models/faces won't go the bullying route. For heels, it's fair game since they're presented as people who do bad things and should be shamed for their actions. Ultimately it is the parents' job to teach children not to emulate bad things they see on TV.

4. I will give them the point that you'd think that C.M. Punk would want to win the IC Championship if it's truly prestigious. I guess they want Punk to win without taking the Title, so they're not going to make it a Title match.

5. >should of. All of my rage. I agree with their point. Normally, I'd say that they shouldn't put so much focus on Show, but it makes a lot of sense in the storyline. I wouldn't mind Kofi being added to the angle on the face side. It would be kind of funny for HHH to say that Fandango is good for business and have him on the heel side. It sounds more like something Vince would say/do, though, given his like for characters.

More wrestling tomorrow.
