Main Event - 9/7/16 and ROH - 9/8/16 Reax

Read on for my thoughts on this week's editions of Main Event and ROH.
- Main Event:
- No Heath Slater:
There was a hilarious segment with Heath Slater's "family" and Rhyno taped before Smackdown that could have easily aired on this episode. Just putting it on WWE.com was a waste.

- Ziggler vs. English:
There's no doubting Dolph's amateur background.

I'm enjoying the Vaudevillains, and wish we got more backstory to them. They were called up without any fanfare when some introductory vignettes would have really helped the act.

Good action so far.

That was mostly good. I would have preferred a tag match, or even a tag handicap match, but it is what it is.

- Swagger vs. Mahal:
OK heel moves from Jinder. He needs to holler at Axel and Dallas, since they're not doing anything else.

That was fine enough to fill time.

- ROH:
- Bullet Club story time:
I don't know what Jay Lethal does next, but I really don't want to see him in the title picture for a while. He's in that Finn Balor-NXT position of having done everything he can do as far as a push goes.

So, Nigel's just going to let the champ have the night off? What a cuuuuucccckkkk.

You KNOW an angle's important when NJPW talents are involved.

- The Addiction:
Same shit as always. Blahhhhh. I don't even know how to freshen the act up at this point.

- Whitmer/Punisher, etc. video package:
At least this is going well for the most part. ROH needs some fresh faces and talents who don't fit the stereotypical ROH mold.

- Caprice vs. Castle:
I wouldn't be all that shocked to see Castle and The Boys go for the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Titles. Of course they won't win, but it makes sense for them to be involved in that scene.

Good work early. I like seeing some people with personality.

This is pretty fun so far.

Both men are pretty impressive here.

So now the referees are worthless, too? Nigel should fine ANX for coming back down to the ring. Otherwise, why would anyone obey orders in the future?

Blehhhhh suicide dive spot.

Mostly good.

- Putting over Jay White:
White definitely had an impressive showing as far as fighting spirit and all that.

- More Addiction:
Oh yay these guys again.

The ladder metaphor was good. I'll give them that.

Ssssoooo who are their next challengers?

- Dijak vs. Lemons:
Lemons might have better luck with Braun Strowman.

That was fun. I'm glad to see more from Dijak.

- Nana promo:
Good job selling the upcoming title match. It has potential to be good.

- White/Rush vs. Briscoes:
Rush and White are generic affffffffff. Talented, but nothing out of the ordinary.

The Briscoes have good chemistry as always. It's like they're related or something.

And here's your stereotypical ROH offense.

Team CAW...

I'm surprised the Briscoes are still in ROH. You'd think they'd want some new things to do and better competition. I guess getting to do NJPW makes it all work out.

Glad that ended when it did. The Briscoes are stuck doing this forever.

- Nigel's announcement:
It would have been natural to give the two teams who just competed the spots in the title picture, but I guess they wanted to see how many FLIPS and MOVES they could put in one match. I think I'd rather watch Human Centipede.

More wrestling tomorrow.
