Impact Wrestling Reax - 11/16/17

Read on for my thoughts on last night's Impact Wrestling.

- ATT backstage:
It makes sense in some ways to continue using ATT since they were already flown into Ottawa, and Dan Lambert in particular has been so good.

- Taiji/Trevor/Konley vs. Sonjay/Dezmond/Garza:
Oh no. A multi-man X-Division match.

Ugggghhhh... I almost wish they'd drop the X-Division as a concept. It's just a bunch of generic characters doing moves.

This is going better now.

Aaaaaand more fancy moves.

That was fun enough for the high-flying wacky match of the night.

- oVe promo:
Ohio vs. Everything is such an odd gimmick. U.S. vs. Canada might work, but one specific state? It really limits who can be a member, too.

- EC3 vs. Bahh:
-- Round One:
EC3 was a little preoccupied with feuding with AAA to defend the title.

I like Bahh using his size here.

I like what Fallah's doing here.

That was a good first showing for Fallah!

-- Round Two:
Damn. Fallah's getting some real offense in on Carter.

Nice work by EC3 taking advantage when he has a chance.

Imagine winning with a rear chinlock in 2017.

-- Round Three:
I like the urgency this stipulation leads to.

This is quite good!

Wow. Big night for Fallah.

That was nice! D'Amore has started well with focusing on the wrestlers' stories in the ring.

- oVe vs. Homicide/Santana/Ortiz:
Oh I like this already.

Ahhh I've missed Homicide.

I like the heel tactics.

Nice story with Homicide here.

The oVe trio is working together pretty well.

Not bad!!

- Post-match:
This is going to get CRAZY.

- ATT/Moose/J. Storm/KM:
Dan Lambert has so much material with the current state of Impact, running a farmers market with Port-A-Pottys and cutting people left and right.

I could see why Impact would drop Lashley, being such an expensive worker who's openly looking to focus on MMA. Of course, he's an amazing worker, but Impact is draining funds right now.

Oh my GOD Dan Lambert is based, openly taking only slightly veiled shots at how badly the company is doing.

Haha ATT is more entertaining than a lot of regular wrestlers.

Impact doesn't need Lambert to kill their company. It's already pretty much gone.

Storm really coming across strong on the mic in his goodbye run.

Part of me would LOVE to see whatever WWE would call Storm and Roode as a duo, but I'd worry Storm would hold him back from being a big singles star.

Storm is the babyface this company needs in times like this. It's a shame he's leaving.

KM looking to join is interesting. I wouldn't be shocked if they destroy him, too.

- Drake/Adonis:
Eli putting Petey in his place. They're basically fighting for the right to keep the belt warm for Alberto, though.

- Petey video:
Petey's a potential focal point given his history in the company and the new Canadian focus.

- Allie/Gail:
Gail blatantly booking a segment to put herself over despite retiring.

- Borash/Allie/Gail:
The Knockouts Title might as well be the Gail Kim Legacy Championship at this point.

This is a good moment for Gail. I'd love to see her in the WWE Hall of Fame at some point if WWE ever ends up owning Impact's assets.

Wow. They're not even going to announce what's next for the division? Gail's great and all, but they need to be able to focus on the people who are going to be wrestling in 2018.

That was good for glorifying Gail, and presumably making Allie her appointed successor. We'll see.

- Park/Grado:
Oooohhhh... awkward.

Hmmm... interesting direction for Park.

OK, that was pretty funny. I'm interested in where Grado goes from here. They could have easily written him off there.

- Jacobs at commentary:
I hope there's more of a plan for him than this.

- Eli vs. Petey:
Drake getting in his head here. He's growing on me.

Petey's doing a good job getting the champion off his game.

Wow. Petey looks game.

I'm impressed here.

Both men doing good work here.

I like the story being told here.

Good sharpshooter spot.

Petey just might have a chance here!

OH WOW!!!! I wouldn't have been shocked to see Petey win on that Destroyer.

This is really good!

Damn! They're making the most of this opportunity!

Very good work from both men.

More wrestling coming up.
