Read on for my thoughts on last night's Raw.
- Corbin/Stephanie/Braun:
Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if Stephanie pushed to have her show go over.
"Permanent GM of Raw" as if he won't be replaced in a year or so.
Oh sweet Braun can lose to Brock again in January. Maybe.
Wow how convenient to pick a TLC match for TLC!
- Elimination match:
-- Braun/Balor/Elias vs. Lashley/Drew/Corbin:
Note the lack of Dolph here.
Fun so far.
Pretty good action.
I'm a little surprised Elias outlasted Finn. The work would be much better if it was the other way around.
-- Braun/Elias vs. Lashley/Drew/Corbin:
Mostly good. I can't be the only one who wishes they were focusing on Braun, Lashley, and Drew.
Based Lio paying dividends again.
-- Braun vs. Lashley/Drew/Corbin:
I like this story.
I'm enjoying this.
-- Braun vs. Lashley/Corbin:
Ha. Rough night for Strowman.
Oh they're killing Braun.
Pretty badass.
- Post-match:
So Braun's going into TLC as the wounded underdog. Got it.
- Seth/Dean:
I like the drama in this one.
I like Dean having a believable character.
OOOHHHH that Roman burn.
That security guy needs to be replaced with the woman who took out Enzo.
- Lars video:
Looks like he's coming to Raw. Lars vs. Braun could be interesting.
- Nia/Tamina vs. Sasha/Bayley:
I like the tenacity here.
They're definitely establishing Nia.
Bayley and Sasha are working their asses off.
Complete dominance.
- More Dean/Seth:
Yeah they're going to stretch this out all night.
- Drake et al:
If you hate segments like this, watch NXT/205 Live/NJPW or whatever. This is going to keep happening as long as Vince can justify doing this style of show.
- LHP vs. Revival:
Wait what? That's a pretty heelish move.
Ehhhh. Kind of a waste. It keeps three talented luchadores employed and making money, but it's hardly as enjoyable as what they do on 205 Live.
- Feast Fight announced:
The Bar have really fallen. They could be bigger players. I'm not shocked Big Show's in a goofy match so soon.
- Seth/Dean/Titus:
I kind of like that even when he can't wrestle due to a life-threatening illness, THE BIG DOG Is still the centerpiece.
- Ronda/Corbin:
Yeah obviously Charlotte and Becky are the more prestigious opponents.
I like Rousey being willing to fight everyone all the time.
I would watch the hell out of Ronda vs. Corbin. I can already picture people SEETHING at a woman beating up a man.
- Ronda vs. Mickie:
This might surprise you, but Mickie James has actually held nine women's championships between WWE and Impact. That's not even getting into the indie titles. Feels like forever ago now.
- Post-match:
Good enough to bring us closer to TLC.
- Paige appears:
Hey you're on the wrong show! Then again, given SDL's record at Survivor Series, she probably wants to switch teams.
- AOP vs. Roode/Gable:
These four could tear it up if given the chance.
Fine enough match for the circumstances. they did the best they could. It's insane AOP are losing in three minutes, though.
- Dean promo:
This is probably going to continue all the way up to TLC.
- Seth promo:
Wow leaving before the show is over? Rude.
- Natalya vs. Ruby:
I like this so far.
Natalya almost always has a rough time in WWE.
I really think this is more of a case of Liv and Sarah needing someone to work with, because Ruby is solid on her own.
SuperNatalya beats three wrestlers.
- Braun announcement:
So does Baron get the Brock match at Royal Rumble?
- Dean/Seth:
I like this side of Dean.
Either Seth's flight got canceled or he tried to vape with Enzo.
Pretty fun stuff. They should have a big battle.
More wrestling coming up.
