Advertised names not at live event, WWE tapes Foley comedy act, #AskTenay, no more Classics on Demand, Cena hurt, match with no ring, Otunga snags magazine cover, WM30 hype, Cena ad, Turning Point press release, Interview with Rey, Smackdown audience, Mysterio back at Survivor Series, PPV Kickoff match, top ROH names at WWEPC, Vince returning soon?, identity of new Raw star and Questions on TNA giving Steiner a $&#*ing mic, non-WWE promotions on the WWE Network, today's roster vs. the past, Kaufman and Santa

Though Cody Rhodes and Goldust were advertised for a recent live event, they weren't there. No word on why that was. The card is always subject to change!

WWE taped a recent Mick Foley comedy show for the upcoming WWE Network. Guests included Joey Styles, Brodus Clay, Pete Gas, ex-Creative member Jen Bloodsworth and Foley's family. The latter were interviewed by WWE. The WWE Network could have some pretty interesting stuff going on...

Update: Here's a report from the show.

TNA will soon be adding a section to their website where fans can ask questions of Mike Tenay. Hopefully that goes better than #AskDixie. I think Tenay would probably have some smart insight on the current wrestling landscape.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
WWE will be ending its Classics on Demand service in January. That seems to indicate the WWE Network is coming.

Update: WWE issued a statement. I think they're just waiting to get some more ducks in a row before officially announcing the WWE Network.

John Cena is quite banged up. Given how insanely hard he worked to get back and how tough his schedule is, I can't say I'm shocked. He's the very definition of a workaholic, which is one reason Vince is so high on him.

Bobby Fulton and Nikolai Volkoff had a match without a ring. That was one of the most indy-looking things I've ever seen. Was Freight Train booked on that show?

David Otunga is on the cover of the new Muscle & Fitness magazine. I wonder what it would take to get him back on TV? I liked his character. I don't think the show "needs" him right now or anything, but I think they could find a role for him. Maybe once the WWE Network is up and running, he can be the GM for NXT or Superstars or something. Not that I expect WWE to care enough to give Superstars a GM.

Sheamus, Jimmy Hart and Kaitlyn talked in a piece about the WrestleMania XXX kickoff party. I'm sure that weekend will be hella busy.

John Cena is plugging a weight-loss program. He's in amazing shape for sure.

Here's the press release for Turning Point. I'm usually not a fan of bullrope matches due to the silly "tagging the turnbuckles" gimmick. It takes away from a serious ass-kicking.

WWE confirmed the exclusion of WrestleMania XX from an upcoming Shawn Michaels DVD that was advertised as containing all of his WrestleMania matches. I can't say I'm surprised, though the advertising was a bit misleading.

There was an article before Raw on Rey Mysterio's fashion, weirdly enough. I wonder how many masks he'll end up having before he hangs it up.

Smackdown's audience for Friday was 2.68 million viewers, losing all the bump they had from the previous week. I wonder if the show would stay on Fridays if another family of channels picks it up. That might be the best thing to happen for the show.

Rey Mysterio will return to action at Survivor Series, teaming with Cody Rhodes, Goldust and The Usos against The Shield and the Real Americans in an elimination bout. I'm sure WWE's glad he can come back to increase the buyrate. A 10-man tag shouldn't be too rough on him. I hope he can stay active for a decent-sized run this time. He's only got so many big PPV matches left in him.

The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston has been set for the Survivor Series Kickoff. Talk about a match/feud thrown together at the last minute. WWE could definitely use a change in Creative philosophy. If you're not in the main event class, you're lucky if WWE has an idea of what to do with you.

Former ROH World Champions Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards have reported to the WWE Performance Center for a week-long tryout. This could lead to them getting a short-term deal to work in NXT. There's definitely some buzz about those two possibly being under WWE contract. If WWE passes on them, TNA should ring them up. They could use some talented workers to repurpose their roster.

Local advertising for next week's Raw lists "The McMahons, Triple H and more", so we could be seeing Vince on the post-Survivor Series show. Much less likely are Shane and Linda. I'd like to see them make a cameo, but I don't see it happening.

R-Truth's tag team partner from Raw, Xavier Woods, is former TNA Tag Team Champion Consequences Creed. He's been in NXT for a number of years now. He had been used on live events and for dark matches a number of times before they finally brought him up. I think he did well in his debut. He's still got some growing to do, but it's good to get some new faces in the mix on WWE TV.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. HEH? SCOTT STEINER IS A GENETIC *FREAK* AND THUS JUST AS YOUNG AS ANY HALF-BREED REDNECK TNA CAN FIND DOWN THERE IN FLORIDA. TNA'S JUST SCARED THAT STEINER WON'T HAVE ANY SYMPY FOR THEIR CANDYASSES. *ahem* As much as I'd love a Scott Steiner shoot promo, I don't see any reason for TNA to plunk down that kind of coin for him. Now's a time to be focusing on building newer stars and being careful with costs. Entertaining as he is, Steiner's a symbol of an older era.

2. What if TNA brought back Scott Steiner, then WWE aired it on their network!? Nah, they pretty much covered it. WWE generally doesn't go for putting over any promotion they don't own. As for content on the Network, while they will be making use of their extensive library of wrestling from older promotions, there will also be original content. And that isn't all necessarily built on wrestlers in the ring.

3. Note: if you're talented, it doesn't matter if you're delivering scripted lines and there are some moves and gestures you can't do. I can definitely see the argument that previous generations were better, though, since a lot of performers had more experience then and had wrestled elsewhere with different characters and styles. That doesn't mean today's roster sucks, though.

4. I doubt it. I don't see it being a big deal for them. I think it'd be cool around Mania for Lawler to play off it en route to a HoF induction, but I don't know how that'd be received or if it's a good idea.

5.
I hope not. And it's still a month before Christmas! Sheesh. I have a lot to do before then.

More wrestling tomorrow.
