Update on Styles angle, more on Bellator, big wrestling convention, upcoming WWE cartoon, WWE ad error, Interview with Maryse, WWE signs Olympic wrestler, Indy wrestling notes, more on Corgan-TNA rumor, Smackdown audience, Main Event match and Questions on the Cerebral Assassin, WWE's tag teams, HBK vs. Bryan, AJ vs. Steph and WM30

AJ Styles defeated Judas Mesias to retain his unofficial TNA World Title. After the match, some AAA heels rudos including Konnan hit the ring only to be run off by Styles and Mesias. The plan is for AJ to continue to retain before returning to face the winner of the current TNA World Title tournament. I like this angle. No official word on Styles' contract past December, by the way.

Diamond Dallas Page was also at the recent Bellator event. As for TNA guys, neither Tito nor Rampage fought and King Mo lost. Rampage will debut against a new opponent on 11/15. I don't know when we'll see any of the Bellator names back in TNA. They are still under contract.

A whole slew of wrestlers will be at an upcoming event in New York. That would be an interesting Royal Rumble.

WWE is making a web cartoon about its superstars as kids. That actually sounds cool.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Some radio advertising for TLC has Daniel Bryan referred to as WWE Champion. Don't get your hopes up on that one...

Here's a Maryse interview. Honestly, I'm not that interested in her at this point since she's not really doing anything wrestling-related.

WWE has signed a top amateur wrestler, Chas Betts, who competed at the 2012 Olympics. I hope he does well in the Performance Center and (when the time is right) the main roster.

Justin Credible's latest Pro Wrestling 101 video is about being successful on the indy scene. Wise words as always. By all means take inspiration from the greats, but you have to come into your own and be your own person at some point. He's also right about overplanning things. That advice could apply to a lot of things.

Jim Ross and the spokesperson for Billy Corgan cast doubt on the possibility of Corgan investing in TNA. It'd be interesting to see what Corgan's spin on the company would be. I'd like to see both companies position themselves for a new era.

Smackdown's audience on Friday was 2.73 million. Shockingly not a big jump for Cena's first Smackdown as 14-time Champ.

Curtis Axel vs. Big E Langston is set for Main Event. That could be interesting. I'd like to see what both men can do with a spotlight on them.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Obviously HHH's comments were successful in getting under the skin of people who support Daniel Bryan. Since the two of them are (were?) feuding, that's HHH's goal. The fact that people still don't get this is mind-boggling.

2. WWE would rather make money off a little person dressed as a bull than get critical acclaim for how seriously they take the tag team division. I can't say I disagree with that position.

3. It's worth noting how WWE continues to go back to the older stars to push Mania to a higher level. If HBK can still go at a high level, I'd love to see him match up with Bryan. I think I can do without HBK vs. HHH for the umpteenth time. They've had great matches and rivalries, but I think it's time to close that door and prepare for a new era.

4. I'd love to see it from a storyline/attraction standpoint. I've been an AJ fan since the Divas' season of NXT. Would it be a "five-star" match? I doubt it. But it'd be a huge moment in AJ's career.

5. WWE owns the copyright to WrestleMania. It'd be crazy if they didn't! I'd rather not speculate on a wrestling-themed porno. *shudder*

More wrestling tomorrow.
