Main Event Reax - 11/13/13, Interview with DDP, new TNA PPV matches, when WWE will be back in Europe, UK show notes, more TNA Orlando tapings, WWE legend doing promotion, WWE doing more media, more on Hogan show, ex-Knockout in magazine, TNA star lands hosting gig, Regal puff piece, NXT hits big milestone and updates to the WWE Wellness Policy

Main Event:
AJ vs. Natalya was pretty enjoyable. Both ladies have become masters of their crafts to a degree.

Nice post-match to add heat to the AJ/Tamina duo. I wonder how long it will be until the inevitable breakup and feud.

That was a good backstage segment from Tyson and Natalya. Glad their characters are getting some development.

Pretty creepy stuff from Kane. I think the idea of him just being a regular guy who does terrible things is even more frightening than him being some kind of supernatural entity.

Gabriel vs. Kidd was a very fun match to watch from an artistic standpoint. Both men can do amazing things in the ring. Unfortunately, I don't see either man really progressing in his career if they get pigeonholed in that role. While being consistently employed as a lower-card "flippy guy" is better than being unemployed, I would hope that both men have loftier goals.

I was impressed by both teams in the final tag match. They're getting more cohesive and comfortable with each other. I hope all four men stay around for the foreseeable future (and I don't see any need to break either side up any time soon).

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Diamond Dallas Page discussed the progress of Scott Hall and Jake Roberts and more. The Power Plant wasn't exactly known as a great place to learn wrestling. As for the big angle with Hulk, don't let the "smarks" know that an angle involving non-wrestlers was a big draw. In their fantasy world, you just need wrestlers doing wrestling things with no crossover with other media entities.

Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss in a Monsters' Ball match has been added to TNA's Old School PPV. Remember when big PPV gimmick matches were between two people who were in a heated feud that had to be settled that way? They're doing gimmicks that spark feuds instead of feuds that spark gimmicks. I enjoy the Rumble and MITB, but other than that I'm not generally a fan of gimmick matches for the sake of gimmick matches.

WWE is heading back to Europe in May. Dates here. That's a little odd as they generally go there shortly after Mania in April. I wonder what their thinking is there.

Wade Barrett played face at a recent UK live event, defeating Zack Ryder (who worked heel). Ryder as a heel turning on the fans who stopped supporting him could be fun, like when R-Truth turned heel.

TNA has announced further Impact Wrestling tapings in Orlando, from 12/3 - 12/5. They're really getting a lot of shows "in the can" it seems.

WWE now has ownership of the libraries for the Global Wrestling Federation and Georgia Championship Wrestling. WWE's definitely going for complete global saturation.

William Regal was the guest referee for Smackdown's dark main event of John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio. After praising Cena as a wrestler post-match, Regal attacked him. This led to a brawl with Cena going over with an AA. Tony Chimel ate one as well (which seems heelish of Cena). I imagine the spot with Regal was just done to pop the UK crowd. I consider him semi-retired as a wrestler at this point as he's only wrestled about a dozen matches in the last calendar year (mostly on live events).

Jimmy Hart has been doing media to promote WrestleMania XXX. I wonder if Hogan will end up joining him in that role?

WWE will produce a highlight show for the 2014 Special Olympics. That's pretty cool. I wonder if Fox would think of picking up WWE's shows if WWE doesn't get the money they want from NBC Universal...

The OWN special on Hulk Hogan will air this Sunday. While I'm a frequent critic of Hogan, I definitely don't wish for him to join the troubling statistics of suicides.

SoCal Val will be in the next issue of Business Cycles Ink. I wonder what she does (if anything) as a career in addition to being a valet.

TNA has added two matches for the Hardcore Justice PPV:
-Abyss and Eric Young vs. Bad Influence in a Full Metal Mayhem match
-Austin Aries vs. Samoa Joe vs. Chris Sabin in an X-Division Xscape match

Should be fun.

TNA's Jessie Godderz will be co-hosting an arm wrestling show on the ESPN family of networks. I think that bodes well for his remaining employed.

WWE.com has a piece where Triple H, Daniel Bryan and others talk up William Regal. Cool stuff. He's got to go in the WWE Hall of Fame down the line. He could teach a master class on wrestling. Sadly a lot of things he could teach are something of a lost art.

Speaking of Regal, he'll be facing Antonio Cesaro on an upcoming episode of NXT. Hopefully Regal's as good once as he ever was, as that could be quite the contest.

NXT is set to hit 200 episodes soon. The show's had its ups and downs (and total shifts in focus), but it's been good for giving talents roles who otherwise might not have had them.

WWE has made some notable changes to their Wellness policy, including making it possible for a talent to have a strike removed. It's not an easy process, though (nor should it be). It will be interesting to see how this all plays out for performers in the years to come.

More wrestling tomorrow.
