TNA star crashes indy show, Interview with Shamrock, NXT stars get new names, Cena praises rising star, another ECW reunion and Questions on the new Kane, Hogan-WWE, Miz, Iron Sheik, Montreal, combining the top belts, Hogan's best matches, Survivor Series and Taker

TNA ran an angle where Bully Ray attacked Tommy Dreamer at a House of Hardcore event in order to set up a Falls Count Anywhere match between the two of them. That match will be at the same venue on TNA's One Night Only: Old School event on 12/30. Ray and Dreamer probably need the crutches of a big gimmick match to get a main event-level performance these days. Those bump cards are getting pretty full.

Ken Shamrock talked about WWE, UFC and more. Interesting thoughts about White and the MMA world.

NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension have been given new names. Conor O'Brian will now be known as Konnor. Rick Victor will now be known as Viktor. I like what I've seen of the gimmick and hope it makes the main roster one day. The names are fitting.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

John Cena praised Antonio Cesaro during a WWE show in Germany, referring to him as a future World Champion. Pretty cool moment. Cesaro worked as a babyface at the show in a win over The Great Khali. Cesaro made use of the Giant Swing. I normally don't like dropping "shoot" names, but a lot of the audience there probably knows Cesaro by his previous name. At any rate, it's really cool how Cena gave him a spotlight like that. It would have been funny if Zeb Colter came out and bashed Cesaro for speaking German, leading to Swagger vs. Cesaro.

Here's a photo of a reunion of ECW alumni at House of Hardcore 3.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions: Questions 1-5 Questions 6-10
1. "This is how they cast The Joker? By having the guy from Brokeback Mountain play him?" etc. Give it time to play out. They turned Kane heel in a fresh role that presumably limits the bumps he'll take on an aging body. This could end up being rather interesting, and it's not like they can't "pull and Undertaker" and have him go back to the other character down the line. Plus, maybe it means we get Bryan vs. Kane?

2. I wouldn't mind him being used in a Legends role as long as we don't see him TOO often on the main shows and it doesn't turn into him hogging up the spotlight. He'd definitely be great for pushing the WWE Network.

3. WWE's been defining down a number of acts recently, which is dumb.

4. Iron Sheik is the real. Respect true legend. Etc. I generally find him funny. Much more so than John Cena, for instance.

5. Let's just say this: the Montreal screwjob ended up being a big boon for WWE as far as being a defining moment of the Attitude Era. Would the screwjob have even been an idea if Bret wasn't going to WCW? Who knows.

6. They could have one top champion beat the Rumble winner (maybe at Elimination Chamber?) for the opportunity to unify the titles. But then what the heck would they do for Elimination Chamber? Hmmm... They could also have the Rumble winner be the top contender in line once the titles are unified. And I think they'd go with something like Undisputed WWE Champion or something again before just dropping it to WWE Champion.

7. Not by himself. It all depends on what they do once he's no longer champion. They might just combine the titles after all.

8. Whatever match ends up being his last... I enjoyed Hogan vs. HBK for HBK's (admittedly somewhat unprofessional) antics and Hogan vs. Rock for the angle. A lot of times it's the story that makes a match a big deal to me.

9. I think the Orton/Show angle's actually been pretty good. Cena/Del Rio leaves something to be desired, though. Thankfully, they still have two weeks! As for whether it will turn things around, time will tell.

10. I think they'll give him SOME kind of send-off when it's his last rodeo. I could see him coming out on Raw after a Mania and saying that the next year will be his last, setting off something of a year-long build. Maybe in conjunction with a Hall of Fame induction?

More wrestling tomorrow.
