Query on the Major Brothers, CZW booking former NXT names against each other, lots of NXT live events coming, eat your Booty-O's, Roadblock attendance and dark matches, ROH in Philly notes, Sunny health update, WWE live event note, and Questions on Low Ki's release, Sting at WM32, standing up to Vince, Christian's retirement, downside guarantees, WWE being like Hollywood, TNA getting dropped by networks, "What" chants, Stone Cold costing Vince, and El Santo in the HoF

First up, a query:
1. The Major Brothers on WWE's ECW brand would later become Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder. And thank goodness they did! Their other gimmick went nowhere pretty quickly.

CZW is booking former NXT stars Solomon Crowe (Sami Callihan) vs. Bull James (Bull Dempsey) for a WWN show on Wrestlemania 32 weekend. That's a smart idea to get casual fans in.

NXT will have two simultaneous live events in Florida on both Friday and Saturday. That's great! More people will get to work in front of live audiences, which is valuable for them growing.

WWE is now selling a T-shirt and cereal box package for "Booty-O's." That might be my favorite news story of the past month.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Roadblock is believed to have been a sellout, if not it was very close.

- Mark Henry defeated one of Santino Marella's students in a dark match at Roadblock. I'm under the impression Santino still works for WWE. Either way, I'm glad to see he's passing on his knowledge.

- Goldust beat Viktor, leading to an Ascension beatdown and Truth making the save. That angle continues.

Some notes from ROH in Philadelphia:
- Lio Rush was backstage. I expect ROH will try to sign him before he gets snatched up elsewhere.

- Matt Taven filmed promos, so we could see him back on TV soon. He's still out injured.

- Punisher Martinez and QT Marshall beat Leon St. Giovanni and Shaheem Ali. Could see see those names show up in ROH more regularly?

- Former ROH head of security Zach Yeager was visiting.

Tammy Sytch was recently released from the hospital following a week of treatment for diverticulitis and infectious colitis. I hope she gets in good mental and physical health going forward soon.

Enzo and Cass vs. The Revival was also on other WWE live events this weekend. No title change.

For my take on the first set of yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'm almost positive the story at the time was of Low Ki asking for his release because WWE didn't have any creative plans for him (i.e. a push). WWE wasn't willing to feature him as a dominant ass-kicker, so he went elsewhere. Now, I could be remembering wrong, but that's what my memory of that time was.

2. I think him just hitting a few bat shots would be fine. With Sting's history against The Authority, this would be a good time for him to show up. I do like the idea of Taker turning on Vince and giving Shane the win; it's pretty much the only way Taker would be the face. WWE should definitely want him to get a face reaction in his home state.

3. What everyone's ignoring here is how Roman coming back after a stretcher job would have been even more "Super Roman" than what we got. I do think things are different from Austin's day, but Vince does still want talents to stand up and challenge him. It's all in how it's done.

4. Pretty much what they said. I look at it a little like Rey's exit from the company: it wasn't one big diagnosis/bump that did him in, so there wasn't as big of a buzz for him leaving. I've been a Christian fan pretty much since day one in WWF, but the situations aren't the same.

5. I believe they still get paid their downside each pay period. It's split up across the year so something like that doesn't happen.

For my take on the second set of yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. WWE also has fans online and at home. If they sell a lot of Roman Reigns shirts, and he gets a lot more social media followers than other performers, and people tune in to his segments, they have to listen to that audience, too. As for the comparison with Hollywood, I definitely see the comparison between critically-acclaimed (but low drawing) actors/movies not getting featured, while movies that appeal to the lowest-common denominator keep getting made (and making money). Whether the critics like it or not, Hollywood and WWE are about making money. It's more of a risk to do that with someone who appeals to the fickle, "hardcore" fans, but not necessarily the larger audience who actually spends money on tickets/merchandise.

2. As was said, TNA spent a lot of money on talents/improvements that didn't translate into big, long-term gains in viewership. That didn't endear them to Spike, who were more or less promised more viewers than were delivered by Hogan, Bischoff, etc. And there was a stigma about wrestling on Destination America. It didn't fit in with the other shows on the channel, and the usual advertisers didn't want to associate with the show. TNA didn't get as big of an audience as DA was hoping, AND people didn't want to advertise on it. So, they got dropped.

3. I think a lot of times fans get more of a rise out of amusing themselves with chants than watching the show, whether it's good or not. It's like they want to show that even though they paid to attend a WWE show, they're above those "kiddies watching this PG Ramen Rains crap." And honestly, a lot of fans do it to be part of the crowd. They probably don't even know why "what" is a thing in the first place. As for the last part of the question, they get big boosts when people like Vince and Shane show up here and there, despite not wrestling. They draw in the casual fans who won't necessarily come to shows to watch actual wrestling. Believe it or not, a lot of fans want to see the characters and the drama aspect more than the in-ring finesse of former independent stars.

4. I would watch the hell out of that. They might as well make that match as big of a clustermess as possible. It's not going to be Zayn/Owens or AJ/Jericho as far as technical wrestling goes.

5. I'd love to see it, but I don't know if WWE would consider it.

More wrestling tomorrow.
