Mauro splits from WWE, odd Table for 3, Wilder update, Mooney on Network special, big gimmick match on Raw, WWE and ROH work with HOH, and Questions on working one side of the ring, Eva Marie's status, and ECW taking shots

Mauro Ranallo has officially left WWE. Newsweek discussed the situation, including remarks by Mauro and JBL. The speculation is that there was an agreement where Mauro agreed not to say anything negative about JBL in his departure. It's starting to look like everything's been blown out of proportion. I don't know if Meltzer is intentionally "working" people with his reporting or if he's just the conduit through which people in a business built on charlatanry spread stories beneficial to themselves and detrimental to others. Either way, his credibility on these kinds of stories is suspect.

AJ Styles, Shawn Michaels, and Kevin Nash are on a new Table for 3 after Raw. That's a pretty interesting combination. I wonder what Nash thinks of AJ as a believable top star.

Dash Wilder is back in the gym after having his jaw wired shut. The Revival have some serious grit. I want to see more of their tough mentality and fewer flippy models.

Sean Mooney filmed something about unseen matches for WWE Network. There are mountains of tapes of matches in the WWE archive that haven't been uploaded yet. It will take years to get through however much of the video library they're going to digitize for the service.

Braun Strowman vs. Kalisto in a Dumpster match is set for Raw. Oh, man. I don't think this is going to end well for the former Lucha Dragon. I've really loved the dominance of Strowman.

WWE allowed the Hardys to wrestle at the April 22 House of Hardcore event, although they didn't go as "extreme" as they might would have before signing to WWE. Tommy Dreamer said HOH owes WWE a favor, so we'll see what comes from that. I'm glad they were able to work something out. To be clear, WWE could have barred the Hardys from appearing at all after signing with them. Matt and Jeff could have easily been working a WWE live event instead.

- Dreamer also tried to get the Young Bucks on the show through a deal with ROH, but was unable to do so. Dreamer said he owed ROH a favor as well.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
Nothing to add to 1.

2. Almost certainly so they can face the cameras during the pinfall. That's a big part of televised wrestling - making sure the audience can see your facial expressions and such.

3. They're still technically together, but each side has different priorities going forward so they're just letting the clock run out. Eva will go the modeling/acting route and WWE will move on without her.

4. It's the old "I'd much rather be wrestling for (rival wrestling company the fan base hates)!" trope. Pretty reliable way to get heat from the really smarky crowd. See also "I'm going to go wrestle for super-cool indie company" from Punk's "pipebomb" promo to get a pop from the same crowd.

5. Special shows are special for a reason. Mike went all out for a topic very close to his heart.

More wrestling tomorrow.
