Superstar shakeup preview

Read on for the moves I'd make for this year's WWE draft.

These are in no particular order as far as importance.

-- Raw to Smackdown:
- New Day:
After a REALLY long tag team title reign, they've kind of been coasting on without much to do. The Raw tag team division needs room for other teams to breathe, and they'll be fine with the Hardys involved. Smackdown could get a big refresher in the tag team division, with a lot of new opponents and situations for New Day.

- Charlotte Flair:
After 55,000 Raw women's championship matches, it's time for her to move on. New names can be showcased in Raw's women's division (including Emma), and Charlotte will have a fresh batch of opponents. It needs to be a good while before we see Charlotte vs. Sasha or Charlotte vs. Bayley again. Although both matches are always great, the feuds have been run into the ground. It's time for both sides to grow away from each other.

- Sami Zayn:
He could potentially get something of a revamp on Smackdown. It will be good to see him not facing Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, or Braun Strowman for a while. Sami really needs a character beyond "Kevin Owens' former best friend turned enemy" and "underdog guy." I want to see him progress out of the shadow of the former Kevin Steen.

- Big Show:
Show's probably on his last legs as a wrestler, so I'd like to see WWE make the most of his last year after his big body transformation. We might have already seen the last of Kane, so Show can work with Bray, Orton, etc. as needed.

-- Smackdown to Raw:
- AJ Styles:
After the issues with Shane and Bryan, he's pretty much GOT to change shows if he's going to remain a heel. Even if he turned face on Smackdown, it'd be weird for him to be more or less buddy-buddy with the face authority figures so soon. I think having him away from John Cena for a while will be good, too. That's another case of a feud that's great but runs the risk of going on too long.

- Aiden English:
With no Simon Gotch, I don't see much reason to keep him on Smackdown. He can join the Main Event crew so we get some new matches there. Someone's got to work that show, and it might as well be him.

- Apollo Crews:
He's been pretty much totally wasted on Smackdown. I'd like to see him get a restart on Raw. He's a talented guy, but he's lost in the shuffle. He needs some character progression beyond being happy to be there and get in the ring and all that garbage. This is sports entertainment, dammit!

- The Miz and Maryse:
Another case of it being somewhat inevitable given the feuds with Bryan and Cena. Time for a change of environment. I'm not opposed to him working Smackdown's next PPV against Shinsuke since that feud's been established.

-- NXT to Raw:
- No Way Jose:
I think he's picked up pretty much all he's going to learn as a mid-level guy in NXT. I don't see him being a title match player there, and this is the perfect time to call him up so he can contribute as an undercard act. This is yet another case of someone who doesn't need to be "pushed" or seen as a potential PPV headliner or whatever. He's there to contribute at a certain place on the card. If he does more than that, it's an added bonus.

-- NXT to Smackdown:
- Elias Samson:
Another guy who's spinning his tires in NXT, as he's not really someone they'd use in the main event. He can more or less slip into Miz's role as far as getting heat. I'd definitely rather see a fresh guy get to test the waters than trying to make something of Dolph Ziggler AGAIN. Heel or face, Raw or Smackdown, some talents have done all they can really do. Time to move aside for some new names.

More wrestling coming up.
