WWNLive update after hack, Smackdown dark matches, Impact and WWE departures, big international tryout coming, Heyman interview, Cena TV note, Smackdown audience, Hardys finishing work outside of WWE, and Questions on Taker in the HoF by himself, the superstar shakeup, Angle vs. Brock, the Broken Hardys in WWE, and Taker's goodbye

WWNLive has vowed better security measures and servers are in place following a big attack on their website during PROGRESS' WM33 weekend event being streamed on their website. It's unfortunate fans couldn't see the event due to those activities.

Before Smackdown, American Alpha beat the Vaudevillains. I hope the Smackdown tag team division gets some more focus after the Superstar Shakeup. There are a lot of teams just kind of hanging around on both shows.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Dolph Ziggler after Smackdown. Somehow I think Ziggler's going to be doing a lot of jobs no matter which brand he's on going forward. Fine by me. He's hit that Jack Swagger spot where hard work doesn't mean much because he's stuck in such a rut.

Aron Rex has left Impact Wrestling; he was never signed to an actual contract there. Rex had a movie commitment that prevented him from being at he most recent set of tapings, and it sounds like he's going to continue moving away from competing in the ring. That was pretty much his intention after leaving WWE, so it's not a huge surprise he's no longer part of Impact. It's also possible he wasn't going to be able to continue the angle with Rockstar Spud under the new creative regime. Either way, I wish him the best going forward.

AAA and WWC are doing an international competition to find talent to tryout for their promotions and LU. This will take place in Brooklyn on the same day of Summerslam. That would seem to confirm AAA expects LU to continue to another season. Nothing has been announced on that front at this time.

Paul Heyman spoke on Madusa's new podcast. A LOT of wrestlers have podcasts these days. I can't say I fault them for trying to make some money from that format. It can't be as bad as taking bumps!

John Cena's FOX TV show will debut its second season on June 11. It's wild to see WWE letting him do a show outside of Raw or Smackdown.

Brooke is reportedly no longer part of Impact Wrestling. She had just returned early in the year, but presumably didn't come to terms on a contract with the new regime. That's a shame; she's a solid talent and brought experience to the division.

Simon Gotch is no longer part of WWE in what's believed to have been a mutual decision. It's a shame the Vaudevillains didn't take off on the main roster. It will be interesting to see what this means for Aiden English. If they don't have another partner in mind for him, it might be worth retooling him in NXT for a while because I don't really see him getting very far as a singles star as things are now.

Smackdown drew 2.89 million viewers for their first show after WM33. The show was the highest-rated cable show Tuesday night. They didn't get a huge boost following Mania, but they did see a decent increase.

The Hardys will be able to work independent dates they had booked before signing their WWE deals. I'm curious how much they'll be on the road under their new contracts, as they're not getting any younger and they've taken a LOT of bumps.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'd be completely OK with this given how many years Taker gave to WWE, particularly at Mania time. If they play their cards right, they could tie all that into Brock vs. Roman at WM34. They've got the chance to do something pretty big in New Orleans next year, with Taker being an important part of it.

2. I assume a few Raw names will head to Smackdown and vice versa as well as some NXT names being brought up. I think it'll be good to move things around given how some careers have stalled (Sami, Apollo) and some feuds have been run into the ground (Charlotte in the Raw title picture).  AJ moving to Raw makes sense given his issues with Bryan and Shane. Smackdown just got Nakamura; they should be fine.

3. I expect Angle/Brock at some point given their history, but I definitely wouldn't rule out seeing Angle vs. HHH at Wrestlemania given HHH's history of working with pretty much every part-timer who comes in.

4. Considering Impact's audience is only a fraction of WWE's now, much less in the Hardys' prime, I don't think everyone is clamoring to see the Broken gimmick. A lot more people want to see Team Xtreme. All that said, I can see WWE trying to figure out the legalities involved and MAYBE be willing to buy the IP from Anthem if necessary. Either way, WWE and the Hardys are going to make a good deal of money. Whether Anthem does is up to the courts if it goes that far.

5. I think it was very well done. It can be argued WM28 and WM30 were bigger nights to go out on, but Taker was able to have a few more big matches and contribute to WWE's future before saying goodbye. The night wasn't just about him; it was about guys like Roman, Rollins, and Owens. No complaints on my part. Let's all move on to what's next.

More wrestling tomorrow.
