Summerslam preview

Read on for my ideas on booking tonight's Raw and Smackdown Live brand WWE Network special event.
-- Kickoff:
- B-Team vs. Revival:
I definitely don't see why The B-Team would win on Raw and lose here. The champs retain, then face The Ascension as the tag team undercard tour continues.

- Rusev/Lana vs. Almas/Vega:
Zelina pins Lana, leading to Rusev leaving her. I think putting these two in the U.S. Title picture next works.

- Cedric vs. Gulak:
I like Cedric, but I'm not going to complain about a new direction here. I'm ready for Tyler Breeze and Chad Gable to join the roster to shake some things up.

-- Summerslam:
- Carmella vs. Becky vs. Charlotte:
Carmella plays the two of them against each other to sneak out a win. Becky can finally win the title one-on-one at Evolution. Have Carmella beat jobbers in an "open challenge" for a while until then.

- B. Bros vs. New Day:
I love New Day but they it's too soon for Harper and Rowan to lose. Bludgeon Brothers retain. They and The Bar can smash each other around for a while next.

- Finn vs. Baron:
I feel bad for Finn. I really do. No way could I have him lose this. I'm good with Finn vs. Big Show next. Show can come back and cut a promo about how he's been in WWE 20 years and he's going to be here another 20 years. How many indie darlings have come and gone since then? He's sick and tired of the entitled NXT generation, etc.

- Owens vs. Braun:
Jinder comes out to ringside, steals the briefcase and clobbers.... Kevin Owens! A smirking Owens wins the briefcase via DQ. Braun chases them both.

- Elias concert:
Lashley interrupts, but Elias tells him some harsh truths. Lashley went from beating Roman last month to not having a match at Summerslam. He's supposed to be this MMA badass but he's running obstacle courses and interrupting concerts. Lashley shuts him up, but eventually realizes Elias was right.

- Bryan vs. Miz:
Bryan vs. Joe is definitely something they can do at some point, whether that's for Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, and/or WM35. But before that, there's this feud. Miz pushes Bryan's buttons until Daniel snaps and kicks him to a pulp, despite the referee's admonishments. Miz can say Bryan's an unhinged animal attacking a valuable asset, etc., hiring A-List security and such. Feud continues.

- Shinsuke vs. Jeff:
Jeff vs. Orton is the money match here. Orton tells Paige he won't get involved, and he keeps his word. Instead, his music plays and he walks out at just the right moment to distract Jeff (and the ref) for a low blow, then a Kinshasa. Nakamura retains.

- Rollins vs. Dolph:
Let's see if we can save Dolph vs. Drew for WM35. Ambrose accidentally(?) costs Seth the match by hitting Dolph with the IC Title when Drew moves out of the way. McIntyre and Ziggler drive a wedge between the Shield teammates.

- Alexa vs. Ronda:
Mickie, Alicia, and about 50 security guards take the bullet for Alexa to retain via countout. Rematch inside HIAC.

- AJ vs. Joe:

I definitely this one's getting settled inside Hell In A Cell either way, which works. Joe taunts AJ's family and the lack of focus costs him as AJ maneuvers his way to a win. AJ retains, but we get a rematch with Joe promising not to be as distracted.

- Brock vs. Roman:
Owens looks to cash in during the match with Jinder in tow. Braun chases them to ringside before they can capitalize. Roman capitalizes with a superman punch and haha just kidding Brock counters to the F5 and pins him.

Brock and Heyman come out on Raw and tell the fans their contracts expire at the end of the show. Brock says he's done everything WWE has asked him to do. He's beaten Roman in America. He's beaten Roman in Saudi Arabia. He'd beat Roman in Australia if he was staying. But since it's his last night, he's going to tell the fans and the company what he thinks of them. Heyman informs us this is a "Brockbomb." Brock sits down and crosses his legs. He's sick of beachballs and "this is awesome" chants. He's sick of guys a third of his size being called superstars. He's sick of having to save the company because Triple H can't develop anyone who can be the level of champion he is. Vince has begged and pleaded for him to stay because he knows that his company is sinking. And it's not because of people like Vince. It's because of people like the fans, who chant for clocks and Randy Savage and ECW, a company its promoter moved on from years ago. So Triple H can have this company, and he can have this championship. Brock stands up and officially vacates the Universal Championship.

Enter Kevin Owens, who fans have presumably been chanting for. He acts like he's going to cash in the briefcase, with Heyman and Brock laughing it off. Heyman's father was a lawyer, and he knows a thing or two about contracts. Before Summerslam, Heyman sat down with Owens and the two of them worked something out. Owens can cash in that contract at any time, and since there's no longer a champion to challenge, Owens is now the official Universal Champion. Brock and Heyman shake his hand and leave.

Braun Strowman comes out and demands answers. Kurt Angle confirms Brock and Heyman were right, and we move onto Owens vs. Braun for the title at HIAC.

More wrestling coming up.
