WWE's Q1 2019 business decline has led to some questioning the idea of pushing women so prominently. With Ronda Rousey out of the picture, we could definitely see a decrease in prominence for the divisions.

Brock Lesnar's UFC retirement is due to UFC not offering him enough money to return. That shouldn't really surprise anyone.

- Brock is expected to face Seth Rollins in Saudi Arabia.

Goldberg's WWE return was something WWE pushed for, as there was concern he'd appear for AEW and bring an audience there. It's amazing he's still that much of a star in 2019.

Sasha Banks was originally planned for the women's Money in the Bank match. Dana Brooke is replacing her.

Michael Elgin joining Impact was pushed for by Don Callis, who of course works with NJPW. NJPW wouldn't allow contracted talent to appear for a competitor to ROH, so Elgin had to leave NJPW in order to join Impact. NJPW has left the door open for him to return.

Pentagon Jr. was hurt at Impact's Monday taping. He is not advertised for this weekend's events. There's no word on his status for Double or Nothing.

The Lucha Bros are expected to leave MLW. It's possible they join AEW exclusively in the U.S., which would be a blow to MLW and Impact. The pair are still set for Slammiversary.

AEW is not expected to get LU cease-and-desist letters, since AAA and AEW are working together.

Willie Mack should be able to work ROH and NWA again after agreeing to join AAA from The Crash. Hopefully he's back in the mix soon.

NWA could have a streamed wrestling series by fall.

"Dark Side of the Ring" drew 214,000 viewers this week.

Mexico's Box y Lucha commission will help veteran wrestlers with injury-related devices like wheelchairs and hearing aids. That's great!

AEW's Jimmy Havoc and MJF will continue to work MLW once AEW starts running regularly, since they signed with MLW first.

AEW made Batista a major offer, but he was only interested in the WrestleMania retirement match.

The Best Friends are in Double or Nothing's battle royal.

Alberto El Patron is competing for Combate Americas in October.

Jon Moxley is expected to return to the indies in a few weeks.

Harper was set to work with Sami Zayn after WrestleMania, but Vince McMahon doesn't "get" Harper and pulled the program. Vince then sent Harper home, but brought him back to work with EC3 in a dark match where Drake Maverick worked as Harper's manager. Vince hated that match and has no further plans for Harper, leading to Harper asking for his release. Vince has personally told Harper WWE will not release him, so it looks like Harper's going to have to wait his contract out. This is absolutely something WWE should face pressure on.

Daniel Bryan has been medically cleared to return. He will compete on WWE's European tour, which will feature mixed rosters as far as the Shakeup is concerned. I'm glad he's back in action.

Dean Malenko is believed to be retiring, rather than moving to another company.

Lio Rush was split from Bobby Lashley because Lio wanted to be a top-level babyface and be paid for Lashley's merchandise since it features Lio's catchphrase. He's expected to go to either NXT or 205 Live.

- Lio has been pulled from WWE's European tour.

- Mark Henry spoke about the situation on "Busted Open," taking Lio to task for his backstage issues and wanting a large increase in pay. WWE recently sought to sign Lio to a five-year deal, but he turned the company down for the offered salary.

- Lio, after WWE discussed moving him to NXT and revamping him, asked for his release in order to show WWE what he can accomplish outside of the company. He's incredibly confident in himself, to say the least.

Tyler Breeze has been moved to NXT. I'd like to see a few other names changed over to NXT and NXT UK.

Anthem is arguing they continue to hold the Jeff Jarrett trademark, since Jarrett authorized them to use it when he was Impact's chief creative officer. Anthem insists the same is true of GFW content, since Impact put out GFW DVDs with Jarrett's approval.

War of the Worlds Chicago has added Colt Cabana vs. James Storm for the NWA National Championship. This will be Storm's first ROH appearance.

Nick Aldis and Dave Lagana were at the Cauliflower Alley Club recently on behalf of NWA. They're certainly embracing tradition.

Billy Corgan discussed Crockett Cup on Busted Open. The show was received well.

Rey Mysterio and Kalisto will be on EstrellaTV's "100 Latinos Dijeron" tonight.

Finn Balor got press for meeting a Special Olympics athlete before Smackdown Live. He's really been an inspiration.

Carmella and Sonya Deville are on the Bellas' latest podcast.

Kofi Kingston discussed his path to the WWE Championship. A lot of stars have experienced similar start-stop booking.

WrestlePro's Pat Buck worked at the WWE Performance Center as a guest coach this week. WrestlePro and Impact have co-promoted events in the past, including United We Stand before WrestleMania.

Rich Swann has signed a two-year Impact Wrestling contract. Swann indicated he expects Impact to grow in the coming years, and he wants to be part of that. He can certainly be a featured performer there.

Impact Plus is now available on Roku. This is the replacement for the Global Wrestling Network.

Alexa Bliss discussed the Bella Twins' influence on the WWE women's division. They have definitely achieved a lot for the company.

Charlotte Flair will drive the pace car at NASCAR's May 26 race.

Paige discussed The Rock, "Fighting With My Family," and more.

Titus O'Neil will be at a Kentucky Derby charity event.

Mattel is taking pre-orders for action figures for Ricochet, Ali, Tommaso Ciampa, and Tony Nese. I believe that's the first WWE figure for each man.

Takeover on June 1 is expected to be in Connecticut. "Takeover:Bridgeport" doesn't really sound major, so we'll see if it gets a special tagline.

Kamala's successful GoFundMe to save his house got local press.

David Arquette vs. Jungle Boy is set for Bar Wrestling's May 8 show. Arquette worked with Jungle Boy's father.

Joey Ryan will work for Australia's World Series Wrestling in June.

"Dark Side of the Ring" will come to Viceland's Australian streaming service beginning May 8, and their Australian TV channel beginning June 3.

C.M. Punk and AJ Lee will appear for the Children's Mental Health Gala in Chicago this weekend. Glad to see them doing that.

Shane Douglas is wrestling for a lupus fundraiser in Ohio this weekend. Glad to see it.

Kurt Angle has been pulled from WrestleCade later this year due to WWE feeling the convention was associated with AEW. WWE is getting more protective of talent appearances.

Dixie Carter is believed to have filmed content for WWE recently. That will probably pop up in an upcoming project.

At NXT's May 2 live event in Florida:
- Garza, Jr. debuted in a loss to Mansoor
- Reina Gonzalez and Taynara Conti teamed in a loss to Kacy Catanzaro and Lacey Lane. Reina's usual partner, Rhea Ripley, is still out injured.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. They've hired some new writers and live event managers. I expect that will continue. They're also looking for staff in charge of continuity among brands, with someone specifically being hired to help NXT talents communicate their ideas to Raw and Smackdown Live creative. As always, their effectiveness will be determined by those in positions above them, but WWE is at least making efforts to improve things.

2. I'm surprised anyone lasts long in that environment. You'd think that level of turnover would raise red flags, but of course

3. Since his contract is coming up soon, WWE is allowing him to go ahead and take bookings for once it ends.

4. His last match on Raw was in December. To say he's an afterthought there is an understatement, particularly after the recent Shakeup. NXT can make more use of him and give him another chance to become more valuable post-NXT.

Nothing to add to 5.

6. He gets legitimate heat and has people talking. He also has a strong background for the role.

More wrestling tomorrow.
