Miami Herald covers house show, Question on no-compete clauses, HHH/Nash update, Carter interview, Fakih arrested, and Chris Masters to work TNA India project

The Miami Herald covered a recent Florida house show. Included is a picture of Skip Sheffield from his heturn to action. I'm curious as to the details of his presumed on-screen return.

The only PWInsider.com question which wasn't 100% straightforward was the first one: When a contract expires, a performer is immediately free to work elsewhere. Hence Gail Kim's rather sudden appearance in TNA. So, John Morrison (and Melina, since her no-compete clause is up) is/are available should TNA make the right offer.

Triple H was originally advertised for the 12/5 Raw, but his name no longer appears on the arena's website. It's looking like his feud with Kevin Nash will lead to (possible spoiler alert) a match at the Royal Rumble. Better then than Mania, I guess? It doesn't seem to have gotten over nearly as well as they'd have liked.

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's news, starting with an interview with Dixie Carter.

Dixie Carter had a Q&A with The Tennessean. I'd like to see a WWE executive do this kind of thing. I'm not as crazy about the behind-the-scenes stuff driving the action. Though one could argue that Charlie Sheen's real-life escapades made "Two and a Half Men" more exciting and buzz-worthy. Will it work in the long run? I'm not sure. I'd just focus on what fans respond well to across-the-board and not go in any radical direction unless necessary to adapt to the times (and I'm not entirely sure they need to).

Former Tough Enough contestant and Miss USA Rima Fakih was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. I'm very sorry to hear that, given her background. I don't think the organization will be pleased with it either (nor should they be).

Finally, the former Chris Masters has confirmed that he'll be a part of TNA's new project in India. Me gusta. Hopefully he ends up with the main promotion. He was really earning praise with his work on Superstars before WWE released him.

That's all for Sunday's news. Yep, really. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
