Savage remembered on Christmas, Jericho's tired of WWE questions, Tomko update, Questions on a mole in ECW, the WWE Network going overseas, a Cena shirt idea, Lilian Garcia, and no-compete clauses, Edge update, Before the Bell for Genesis, more Questions on Miz Girl, Punk vs. Bryan, turning Cena heel, and Samoans, TNA tryouts, Nash update, Waltman addresses arrest, WWE trademarks old video game name, WWE's top 25 matches of 2011, indie promotion gives child Christmas presents, ads for TNA's Indian promotion, more on Del Rio's injury, signs confiscated,Raw dark match, last 1/2/12 video, and what happened after Raw

Randy Savage's brother, Lanny Poffo, read a poem remembering the Macho Man on Christmas. Touching.

Chris Jericho says that he's done answering wrestling-related questions. The "is he or isn't he?" game continues. Some are speculating that he could return under a new name and/or gimmick, as the latest 1/2/12 video featured a notebook with the name Chris marked out on the cover. Very curious...

The St. Augustine Record has a story on the progress of Tomko following his arrest in October. Glad things are going well and hope they continue to do so.

Up next, my look at today's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Wow. That's one of the craziest backstage stories I've ever heard. We need a Paul Heyman documentary to accompany his upcoming autobiography (which doesn't have a firm release date yet).

2. One step at a time! They're still in the planning and filming stages. I think they'll test the waters in the States first, then look internationally. If it's a smash hit here (which is by no means a sure thing), I'd imagine they'd be more likely to try to get international deals for it.

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's news and questions. Next up, evaluations of Lilian Garcia as a ring announcer.
3. Well played. I could actually see that working for a portion of the audience that would wear "Let's go Cena" around kids, then crush their dreams with the other side.

4. Worse than Christy Hemme? While I share the enthusiasm for Justin Roberts, I never really saw the hate for Lilian. In the interest of full disclosure, she's been the ring announcer for the majority of my WWE viewing career, so I'm sure that's had a lot to do with it. I really like her, and agree with their assessment. If you want to hear some botched announcing, boy do I have a video for you... Credit: Tri.Moon

5. The clause is part of the contract, so if the contract has expired, it's null and void.

Edge will promote the April 2012 release of his WWE Film at the Wizard World convention in Toronto. It will be promoted around the time of WrestleMania. Maybe Edge could go in the Hall of Fame around that time to further bring things full circle?

Here's the hype package TNA will be showing before Genesis. So far, that looks like a good show.

Because of a mix-up the other day where no questions were posted, PWInsider.com has a second does of questions today. Here's my take:
6. Ditto here. As difficult as it is for some to believe, it certainly seems like she's legitimate. One of the best fan reactions I've ever seen.

7. Sorry; I don't see it happening either, for the same reasons. WWE likes having two top titles, and I don't know if they have that much faith in Bryan yet. That's a full 3 months from now, though, so we could end up surprised.

8. Brave guys. It hasn't been easy for them to overcome that kind of thing and make it to the top of the company. If some in the company had had their way, both would have been released a long time ago.

9. It's nowhere near that simple. I don't see people who hate Cena's guts now going out and buying that much merchandise when he becomes a heel. If a Twilight movie was made with crazy violence or whatever its haters want from it, I don't see them going out and buying scores of Team Edward and Team Jacob merch (while its current fanbase buys a lot of "Twilight sucks" merch). That's seriously one of the most poorly thought-out questions I've ever seen.

10. As they mentioned, it's presumably a genetics thing. And they likely get more breaks because of their heritage, as a lot of 2nd and 3rd-generation performers do (which is pretty common in society in general).

Two performers will be given a tryout before an upcoming TNA house show. I wish them both the best of luck in getting on the company's radar.

Kevin Nash is being advertised for independent bookings on the Friday and Saturday before the Royal Rumble, leading some to speculate that he won't be appearing at that event. He's scheduled for an important doctor's visit soon that will say a lot about his in-ring future.

Sean Waltman cleared up what happened to him recently in regards to being booked. Hopefully things aren't as bad as the conclusions a lot of us (myself included) jumped to. I apologize for rushing to a negative judgment.

WWE has registered to trademark the name "WrestleFest", which could be a sign that they're bringing that name out of the mothballs. It was a name of an old arcade game they had. That's rather surprising given how they shy away from the "W word" these days.

WWE has named their top 25 matches of 2011. They've had some pretty good ones.

An independent promotion in Kentucky gave a child new Christmas presents when his were stolen from his father's storage unit. That's one of the best stories I've ever heard.

This link features the first promo spots for TNA's Indian promotion. Some of the greatest ads ever? I think so.

Alberto Del Rio will likely miss 4-6 weeks due to his groin tear. Very sorry to hear that. Hopefully he comes back to have a stellar 2012.

Signs promoting Cliff Compton and Colt Cabana (along with Cabana's podcast) were removed during the Raw taping. I can understand why they wouldn't want there to be anything promoting performers who aren't part of their company. Maybe they'll look at that as a sign to hire the two of them, though? I wouldn't hold my breath.

The dark match before Raw saw Skip Sheffield defeat Michael McGillicutty. No word on what name he was advertised under.

Here's the final video promoting next week's big return on Raw. Weird as always. There are almost certainly little hints in there.

Finally, after Raw, C.M. Punk defeated The Miz in a Steel Cage match to retain the WWE Title.

That's all for Monday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
