Sorensen update, MLB player returning to TNA?, more on Woerhle, more TNA employees defend Borash, Questions on elevating Santino, Robbie E, Rock's return, Punk vs. Bryan for both titles, and Cena "killing angles", possible Mania spoilers, Bourne update, no more wrestling in Oklahoma?, Austin and Kurrgan interviews, more on the 2012 Draft, Sheamus in Sydyney, Tough Enough alums talk, WWE CFO makes presentation, TNA return, and celebrities in attendance at Mania

Jesse Sorensen's healing process is said to be going along quite well. Good to hear after a really scary moment last month.

The White Sox' AJ Pierzynski and Dale Torborg (formerly the KISS Demon in WCW) teased a return to TNA. Meh.

Here's more on the life and times of Dick Woerhle. Seems like he was a great guy.

More TNA workers have (privately and anonymously) expressed their support of Jeremy Borash following Eric Bischoff's comments. He's done a lot for the company since the earliest days of its existence, so that's to be expected. Very curious to see what consequences (if any) this will have for Bischoff.

As for my take on PWInsider.com's 3/14 questions:
1. People complain when WWE doesn't push new stars, and then they complain when they do. While I also don't think he's over enough and ready enough to be in the WWE/World Title picture, he could end up proving us wrong. He's catching on pretty well, and them cutting out his momentum any time soon would be counter-productive to say the least. Unless this question was about him being a more "serious" wrestler, which I would hope they don't do anytime soon given how well people respond to him now.

2. It sucks if they're thinking of dropping the character. If the current creative team can give as much TV time as they do to EY and ODB, I think they might be ok with him. He's defending the title at Victory Road at least.

After the break, I hit everything else from Wednesday, starting with a question on The Rock's comeback.

3. I think some people had heightened expectations for what Rock would be like in 2012. Call in "nostalgia goggles" of whatever you want to call it, but I think that's something like what some have on this whole thing. I definitely don't think he was boring, just not the same performer he was in his prime. Rock was adamant about not having scripts, so I don't think the writers are 100% to blame here (though they have had some less-than-stellar ideas to work with). Cena's definitely elevated his game as far as being less about catch-phrases and more edgy, so I don't see their complaints. Then again, I'm not the one complaining about "PG SuperCena".

4. It'd be pretty cool, but I don't know how much sense it would make sense long-term. Nor do I think that Punk and Bryan are THAT high on the totem pole for it to mean as much as it should (like if it was say Cena vs. Orton). I'm a big fan of both guys, but I don't think they're ready for that level of a spotlight yet. Nor do I think they should actually unify any of their titles.

5. I would like to see more of a serious Cena at times, but there are some serious exaggerations here. The heat and believability are still there, and that's not the sole reason Cena gets booed.

Moving on to less opinionated items, here are some possible spoilers on how WrestleMania will end up:
WWE wants to give more time to Rock/Cena, HHH/Taker, and Punk/Jericho, so there aren't many matches made for the show yet. There could also be a number of Rock vignettes and promos, which shouldn't really be surprising. Miz isn't scheduled for a match yet, but he could end up involved in Cena vs. Rock. That would make sense. They really need to "right the ship" with Miz after what's happened to him the last couple of months on-camera.

There hasn't been anything new on the possibility of Evan Bourne being released following his 2nd suspension in January. He dodged a bullet there. He could feud with Jack Swagger coming out of WrestleMania. That could be cool. As of 3/14, he wasn't being advertised for events after the end of his suspension. There are serious concerns over pushing him, since another failed Wellness test would mean termination. They're in a very difficult situation there.

Due to a UFC lawsuit over taxes on PPV events, the state of Oklahoma has yanked all licenses for MMA, boxing, and wrestling events. It takes effect on 3/31. WWE has a live Raw set for 10/1 which is now in jeopardy. More on this as it develops.

Stone Cold was interviewed on getting back in the ring, Rock's return, and more. He makes solid points asl always.

Kurrgan was interviewed on acting and wrestling. I like that he spun his release into something positive.

There's talk of doing the 2012 WWE draft in April or May, but it hasn't been strictly set yet. There is a 4/23 edition of Raw that's 3 hours long.

Sheamus will be in Sydney, presumably to promote WrestleMania.

Jeremiah Riggs didn't rule out a return to wrestling. I think he burned his bridge in WWE, and if TNA hasn't picked him up by now it looks less likely that they'll do so.

WWE's CFO made a number of important remarks on business in a recent presentation. They're spending a LOT of money on the Network idea, so those negotiations are going to be very important for the future of the company. There was an official confirmation that they're more about TV than PPVs. It's refreshing to hear that they know that they're as disappointed with the Films division's performance as a lot of fans are.

Devon is returning to TNA after months off of TV. No word on why he hasn't been there in a while.

Martin of Tough Enough fame was interviewed ahead of an indie appearance. I like his thoughts on working his way up the ranks and what champions do. He also has the right idea about branching out of your comfort zone, etc.. I also think that Luke should have won and that the two of them should get a tryout for FCW, but it's not up to me. He seems like a smart guy as far as both wrestling and business.

I don't know if this will have any on-screen implications, but former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson and her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez will be in attendance at WrestleMania. I'd pretty much just expect them to be shown in the crowd.

That's all for Wednesday's news. I'll try to get caught up to Thursday by tomorrow night (including Superstars and Impact Wrestling coverage). Thanks for reading and I apologize for the lateness!
