The dark match from the 3/19 Raw taping saw Brodus Clay beat Michael McGillicutty. Remember when Clay was the talk of the wrestling world and was really gaining momentum?

For my take on the 3/20 PWInsider.com questions:
1. Maybe in time. I've liked a good deal of what I've seen from him, but we're still pretty early in his WWE career. I wouldn't count it out, though. He's definitely got potential to rise above where he is now.

2. I don't think so either. With all due respect to the competitors involved, I don't know if they're as big as Hogan and Rock in '02. Hogan wasn't as far removed from the wrestling spotlight as Rock was pre-comeback. As for their gripe, WCW's credibility was already pretty dead when WWE bought it for dirt-cheap in 2001. That angle was never going to be what people wanted it to be. Too many egos and big-money contracts to work with.

Nothing to add to 3 other than it would be very unfortunate if another great performer's career was wrecked by drugs.

After the break, I go into everything else from Tuesday. Next up, a question on the potential return of Brock Lesnar.
4. While I definitely get that feeling, here's why I think it's something a lot of people should embrace: what if those casual/lapsed fans watch the PPV because of him and end up sticking around? Then they theoretically could get behind guys like Punk and Bryan (or insert favorite wrestler here), and WWE will see the increased interest/moneymaking potential in them and feature them/push them more. Obviously that's hypothetical, but it's something to think about.

5. There's a big difference between a company still looking to break into that top tier and one that's on the same level of WWE. One of TNA's employees will be on an important, prestigious TV special. I feel that if WWE's willing to give them that kind of inadvertent positive publicity and exposure, they should take it.

There were a lot of rumors flying around about FCW. Here's what's known:
The weekly TV series could be changing channels. They could be moving the tapings to a new market (maybe Orlando). Vince McMahon is upset over the current direction of developmental (with talent "not being over" and "not being ready"), which could very well have been related to the release of Ty Bailey, who headed the system.

Update: All FCW events this week will take place as scheduled (despite rumors that it would be shutting down or being drastically changed).

Update: There are no plans to shut the territory down as of 3/20. Everything is being treated like "business as usual" there, with talents continuing training and all currently scheduled events continuing as planned.

Update: WWE officially responded to the story. They could be moving tapings to Full Sail University and/or adding something in the Northeast (near WWE HQ in CT). So, this might end up being something big in a positive way for Developmental.

A lot of people in WWE didn't know about the Shane Douglas publicity stunt until they heard about it secondhand. In other words, they didn't realize it was happening at the time.

WWE moved their 6/3 live event from Augusta, GA to Savannah, GA. They also moved their 6/2 live event from Savannah, GA to Augusta, GA. Sometimes I think they do things just to mess with people...

RVD will be back on this weekend's TNA live events, taking on Robbie E. Were he still TV Champion, that could have been used to get him further over.

After Raw, The Miz cut another promo about being left off of WrestleMania. After some back and forth with The Rock, he took a Rock Bottom and People's Elbow.

Update: Here's video.

Evan Bourne was not at this week's Raw and Smackdown tapings, despite his suspension being up. Don't read too much into that, as they could just be waiting until after the hustle of Mania to bring him back into the fold. And honestly, after 2 suspensions in 3 months, I don't think he should be allowed to be on that big card.

Ted DiBiase blogged about his recovery from surgery. He's expected to be out another 2 months if not more. Strong, good-hearted guy.

Here's more of the Bret Hart interview I posted Part 1 of not too long ago. He could be right about Natalya. We'll see.

Daniels had a Q&A in the UK. Interesting stuff. I, too, miss Curry Man.

The Miami Herald covered a pre-WrestleMania Jack Swagger signing.

Bruce Prichard wasn't at this week's TNA tapings due to taking vacation time to deal with a personal situation. I hope it's nothing too serious.

A number of TNA contracts are coming up in the near future, including that of Austin Aries. They'd be crazy to not sign him to a new, longer-term deal. More on this as it develops.

Due to the big reaction Eric Bischoff's comments on Jeremy Borash received, TNA's making some kind of angle about it. The thing is, I don't think the majority of the audience follows things that closely to know about them, so I don't think it will be as effective as they hope.

The pushing of Twitter at Victory Road was reportedly an idea by Dave Lagana, who pushes that a lot. Whatever builds interest/money long-term.

Here's video of John Cena promoting WrestleMania on Fox News.

Christian promoted the 3/20 Smackdown taping, talked about his most recent injury, and more. Good piece.

The special on The Rock vs. John Cena will air on a number of NBC Universal networks. That's really smart to reach to fans who otherwise wouldn't see it (and potentially buy Mania/become more long-term fans in the process).

Raw did a 3.1 on Monday, with hours of 3.14 and 3.06. Given the advertised appearances by Rock, Cena, HHH, HBK, and Taker less than 2 weeks from WrestleMania, that's VERY disappointing to say the least "Dancing With The Stars"' latest season premiered that night, but I don't know how much cross-over there really is there. They've got a lot of rebuilding to do post-Mania.

Despite Olympic qualifying trials coming up, Kurt Angle will still work TNA Lockdown. It's very possible that he'll face Jeff Hardy again then. Might as well I guess.

Sunny visited at the Smackdown taping.

WWE is bringing back the No Way Out PPV this year. The main events will be cage matches, which barely mean anything at this point. Propping things up with gimmick matches isn't working out nearly as well as it should be.

Legends Roundtable talked about The Rock's return. I can definitely see both sides to that issue.

After Smackdown, John Cena beat Kane in a cage match. Not a huge shock.

That's all for Wednesday's news. More to come later in the day. Thanks for reading and I apologize for continuing to run late.
