Query on Gangrel's music, Questions on resentment towards HHH/Taker, Cena on house shows, explaining Kane's actions (again), replacing WWE's top stars, and what TNA gets out of Flair in the Hall, plenty more on Mania, Menounos update, history of Mania go-home ratings, more on Kamala's health issues, more ex-Creative members talk, Mysterio update, and even more Mania stuff

To follow up a news item from the other day, someone asked about Gangrel's old theme music. I believe when played backwards, it says "I buried Paul". If that's true, it's likely a reference to the old "Paul is dead" Beatles conspiracy theory. Pretty clever. As alluded to, Al Snow's theme music has a backwards message as well. It has a female voice (who some speculate to be "Head") saying "I am the one in control". Do musicians still do the whole "backwards message" thing?

For my take on the 3/28 PWInsider.com questions:
1. I wondered this as well! They make a point, though. Those three haven't been at "that level" for as long as HHH and Taker. Which I have no problem with because that means they've been working to get the next generation further over instead of just popping in here and there and being main eventers.

2. I definitely see their point. I think WWE would counter that people want to see Cena ahead of Mania. Little Jimmy would be disappointed with a live event that didn't have him in a big match. It's basically a vicious cycle and them putting a lot of eggs in the same basket. Again.

3. Something like that, yes. Kane's a twisted psychopath. He'd rather be a monster, and Mark Henry is the one who made him a monster by taking him out. They could have done a better job of explaining it, but that's how I see the story. Kane's looking to make up for him being weak and "human" by going after Orton (and doing what his "human" self couldn't do).

After the break, I go into everything else from Wednesday. Next up, planning for a worst-case scenario.

4. Those names (were they not injured) would all be good picks. They'd also probably try to rely more on the old guard (Kane, Show, Henry, Jericho) and make some more FCW call-ups. Definitely not something I want to cover either.

5. I agree with the questioner. Maybe those people Google Flair and find out about TNA? They've got a good amount to gain in my eyes by having him appear there. There are also DVD sales to measure the number of fans he'll be exposed to.

John Cena was interviewed on a number of topics, some related to WWE, and some... not so much.

Update: More from Cena in Philly.

Due to her broken ribs, the chances of Maria Menounos doing much (if anything) physical at WrestleMania are seeming more unlikely. We'll see. I'll stay on top of any potential back-up plans. They could use Natalya if they need a replacement.

YES Network looked at some of the top athlete performances at WrestleMania.

Here's a look at the ratings of "go-home" shows leading into WrestleMania, going back to 1996. WOW. That's very damning.

Alicia Fox talked about models being hired as wrestlers, fashion and so on.

Sheamus talked about Mania.

C.M. Punk talked about Mania with Marvel, who geniusly tied the whole thing into an upcoming comics arc.

Here's the video of the WrestleMania press conference

Kamala may unfortunately have to have his other foot amputated due to complications from diabetes and high blood pressure. Quite sad to hear that.

Edge talked about his career, the Hall of Fame, and so on. He certainly had a heck of a career. I'd like to see him in the roles he mentioned.

Santino Marella also talked about WrestleMania. Sadly, that was out-of-character.

Here are some more insights from working in WWE Creative, specifically in regards to Vince McMahon's pet peeves. I've heard the yawning/sneezing thing comes from the fact that he works really hard and doesn't believe in "sick".

Another ex-member of Creative, Seth Mates, talked about the resentment felt toward The Rock. Interesting points as always from him.

Rey Mysterio is in Miami on behalf of WWE but won't be returning to the ring yet.

Finally, Lance Storm talked WrestleMania and more. I agree about Jericho and Ziggler.

That's all for Wednesday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
