Morgan, Cena, and Billy Gunn interviews, Questions on Douglas' run-in, FCW, Tod Gordon's book, and HBK, Jericho on Fallon, Joe Blanchard passes, more Mania cameos, JoMo update, more on FCW, Masters interview, more Twitter fun from Angle, Rock interview, Diva returns, and the post-Impact show

Matt Morgan talked ahead of a TNA live event. He handled himself really well. Props to him for doing so well with his condition.

John Cena was once more interviewed ahead of WrestleMania (specifically ahead of last week's Raw). Very good to hear his insights on those things. Great guy. I like his endorsements as well.

Billy Gunn was interviewed on a number of things, too. I think he hit the nail on the head about the tag team division. I also miss the Attitude Era's great storylines. We have damn solid wrestling a lot of times, but not as much in the way of really good angles compared to the past. There are times when they get something good started, but they ultimately don't become what they should be.

For PWInsider.com's Thursday questions:
1. Given how few people noticed (I wouldn't have at all if it wasn't reported online), I also don't think they really succeeded. As for him cutting a promo outside of Raw, that wouldn't have gotten nearly as much attention as disrupting the show. It was admittedly a clever idea in some ways.

Nothing to add to 2. As for 3, they didn't. They only reported that they couldn't confirm rumors about that happening. Which would make sense, because it's not happening. I similarly reported that those were rumors that hadn't been confirmed.

After the break, I go into everything else from Thursday. Next up, why Tod Gordon's ECW book never got off the ground.

4. I think the relaunch could have made more interest in the story of how ECW was "done right" when it wasn't a WWE brand.

5. By this logic, would Johnny Ace be un-retired? Until he pulls a Ric Flair and actually wrestles a match (even if it's "unsanctioned" or something), I consider him retired.

Here's a clip of Chris Jericho on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Good brief promotion for Mania and Jericho's philosophy on things.

Joe Blanchard, father of Tully and former owner of Southwest Championship Wrestling, passed away at 84.

The Iron Sheik and Viscera/Big Daddy V will apparently be involved in WrestleMania in some capacity.  No telling what kind of goofy cameo segments we get this year.

John Morrison updated his status in regards to a WWE return. Good read.

Speaking of Morrison, here's more of his on-stage interview.

FCW is scheduled to continue to hold live events and TV tapings at least through the end of May.

There's a two-part interview with Chris Masters. Very insightful read. I like how he turned his in-ring game around. I'd be quite ok with him going to TNA.

Kurt Angle spoiled two major parts of Thursday's Impact on Twitter (Hogan returning and Sting stepping down as GM) before the show began. I don't think WWE would be as ok with this kind of thing as TNA apparently is.

The Rock was interviewed about WrestleMania. I like that he talked up Sheamus vs. Jericho. Given some of the things Punk has said about him, that was unexpected.

Layla returned to the ring at an FCW event, teaming with Audrey Marie against Paige (formerly the UK's Brittani Knight) and Sofia Cortez (Ivelisse from Tough Enough). I was under the impression that she'd be back before now. She could just be waiting to be written back in. Mania season's pretty busy, after all.

Finally, here's the post-show for Impact Wrestling.

That's all for Thursday's news. I'll try to have Friday's up tonight after a Smackdown post. Thanks for reading and I apologize for the lateness!
