Smackdown dark match, Hardy update, Impact preview, Foley talks, Questions on Cena, HIAC, Bryan vs. Rey, and punishing wrestlers, updates on the WWE Network and its proposed Cruiserweight show, Finlay DVD trailer, Punk Q&A, Taker scratched, and a Raw guest star

Ted DiBiase beat Hunico ahead of Smackdown. Nothing new going on there I see. I believe that Camacho's at least worked live events, so maybe we'll see what he can do in the ring on TV at some point.

Jeff Hardy's believed to be suffering from food poisoning. If he feels better in time, they can tape all of his segments ahead of Impact airing. That's one benefit to taping vs. live.

Update: It's believed that they were able to tape footage involving him.

Here's the video preview for Impact Wrestling.

And here's another interview with Mick Foley about wrestling and comedy. I'd be ticked if he did promos juts to crack people up backstage, too. I also think Regal would be a pretty good comedian. I hope that Rumble appearance was Foley's last as a "serious" competitor. He'd be a great source to build intrigue for HHH/Taker in a Cell.

For my take on Wednesday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. As they alluded to, it's all about what Creative thinks people want to see. I imagine that at least part of the audience wants the more goofy manner from him.

After the break, I go into everything else from the day, starting with expectations for HHH vs. Taker.

2. Abysmal? Really? Abysmal to me would be something along the lines of Kennel from Hell. It has to be REALLY bad to qualify. Just because people haven't been jeopardizing their ability to walk, that doesn't make the matches abysmal. Some people... Anyway, I do expect them to go all out and do a bunch of brutal spots to finally settle the feud. On a night with Punk/Jericho and Cena/Rock, they probably feel the need to stand out in that way.

3. Other than the "falling in place for the 619" spot, I haven't had a problem with believability in Rey matches since matches are more like a movie fight than the real deal. Bryan/Mysterio would be interesting, but I don't know how well they'd match up. It could work.

4. I agree with the sentiment here. I think to some degree they can do it to make sure the performer isn't as big of a deal if they do leave. It would be pretty bad for someone to get fed up and leave at the top of the heap.

Nothing to add to 5. Moving on:
The WWE Network is being planned for launch sometime around November. They want it to be live by hte end of the year.

A similar timeframe has been set for the Cruiserweight-themed show in the works. There aren't expected to be any talent signings until the fall.

Here's a trailer for a DVD featuring Finlay as a trainer. That could be very good given his history in that field. Very knowledgeable person.

C.M. Punk gave an interview after TLC in two parts. Good stuff as always. I actually did/do like Elijah Burke, and that's the first I've heard of him being disliked. Interesting to hear about the ice cream bars' progress or lack thereof. I also like his feelings on the Pepsi tattoo, and similarly don't see how people make it on the road with a wife and kids. Supposedly "C.M." has had a different meaning depending on the interview. Entertaining skydiving story. Cabana and Joe in WWE would be pretty kick-ass. Cabana could work well in the Ryder/Santino vein, and Joe knows how to be an intense heel who still has a good deal of charisma. He could get over just on his big offense. WWE missed the boat on both of them when they had the chance to pick them up (Joe) and use them well (Cabana). I wish Punk's vision was embraced more in wrestling, and life in general.

The Undertaker is no longer being advertised for Monday's Raw. They could feel that they have a lot of big matches and names, with not enough time to feature them all (and the full-time performers).

James Roday of USA's Psych will be on the 3/12 Raw.

That's all for Wednesday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
