Main Event Reax - 5/15/13, Updates on Roberts/Graham, another Heyman client?, new NXT name, more on Roberts, Interviews with Mickie/Rhodes/PTP, if ECW stuck around, Aries fined, and Questions on Cena, HHH vs. Lesnar, Heyman, and running WWE

Main Event:
Pretty good opening match. I think Rollins could be going places. It was smart that they didn't "feed him" to Kane and hurt his credibility.

Kind of weird that the Usos intervened instead of Bryan and/or Kofi. Something tells me we're in for a feud between The Shield and The Usos soon, maybe for the Tag Team Titles.

Oh, or maybe we'll see them face off on Friday. Squash match?

I don't like that Sin Cara came back with absolutely zero build. This guy was a HUGE star in Mexico. They're doing a disservice by bringing him back as just another superstar.

Not a bad match between Cara and Barrett. I hope there's at least one more round.

Rhodes vs. Gabriel was pretty good. They work together well. I'm glad that they acknowledged Rhodes vs. Miz for Sunday, even though Rhodes didn't get a promo or anything.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

James Storm underwent an MRI to look at his groin injury. Fingers crossed for the best.

WWE.com analyzed the possibility of a third Paul Heyman client, interviewing (among others) NXT's Corey Graves. Heyman working with an NXT talent would be HUGE for that person's career.

The former Clayton Jack has been re-christened "Cal Bishop" in NXT. A UFC star gave him a shout-out. As far as wrestling names go, that's not terrible.

Here's another story on the recovery of Jake "The Snake" Roberts. I'd love to see him get one last moment in the sun. He's earned it if he stays clean and healthy.

"Superstar" Billy Graham has been pulled from an indie show due to his health. He'll be replaced Sid Vicious.

Here are highlights from Mickie James discussing the "Piggy James" angle. I wonder if they'd even be able to get away with that angle today without someone getting fined or having to apologize? It was a great angle from a good vs. evil perspective. LayCool were just despicable as heels then. It did touch on some very personal, real issues and I think that's what made it so good. In "real life", such behavior from LayCool would be TERRIBLE. That's why the audience pulled for Mickie James to overcome the bullies.

WWE.com talked to a number of (Original) ECW employees about what ECW would have looked like if it wouldn't have closed down. Very interesting stuff! I need to study (more) on what the old ECW was like, because it sounds like they had something truly amazing and different. Dreamer as a heel would have been really weird. Pretty crazy that they're putting over TNA's Christian York! Michael Shane worked in TNA. He wasn't bad. He just didn't break out of the X-Division mold. It's always good to bring in new talent. Low Ki is AWESOME. I think he would have fit in well. Daniels is overrated, but might could have worked in ECW. Some of those other names would be great as well. I really like the philosophy of saving barbed wire and the like for big moments (WWE needs to do this with its gimmick matches). Someone go back in time and make this happen.

Cody Rhodes was interviewed. If you're going to do the feud, I like the idea of Cody vs. Goldust at Summerslam in Backlot Brawl II to retire Goldust, maybe for the IC Title (Rhodes retains). But overall, the company does need to be elevating its younger stars. Maybe that match would elevate Rhodes?

The Primetime Players were interviewed. I agree that Titus seems more comfortable as an entertainer. It's great that Titus got to work with some established veterans. He definitely needed work when he first showed up. All in all, it's good that they're looking at/talking to successful acts of the past. Kind of funny about Tamina given the angle on NXT: Redemption.

Austin Aries was fined following the incident with Christy Hemme, even though he privately apologized and she was satisfied with his apology. That's not enough for the "keyboard warriors". They care so much about someone's feelings being hurt (whether they are or not) that they'll go above and beyond to make a point. The people who make the most fuss about things like this generally aren't the ones who are personally affected.

Anyway, moving on:

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. They pretty much hit the nail on the head with their answer. Though there are definitely people who dislike him because he's featured so prominently and because he "can't wrestle" (read: doesn't wrestle the way they want him to). And of course, some people just like to be "edgy" and rebellious by not liking something popular.

2. I definitely see it as a step down. The steel cage has been somewhat watered down, especially in a world with Elimination Chambers and Hell in a Cell matches. If it was some kind of MMA octagon or something, maybe it would make sense. But a regular cage match isn't really that special in 2013.

3. I think I'd rather see Punk as the face in that scenario, if for no other reason than the size difference. Punk vs. Lesnar would be pretty great at any rate.

4. I don't know if HHH would be as successful and big of a deal if he hadn't married Steph, but he'd definitely still be successful. And I wouldn't force Stephanie to marry anyone she didn't want to marry! But I'd like to see what Paul Heyman would do in charge of WWE (that's like the default answer for this).

5. I think things will continue in the same fashion for a while. It's working for them, so I don't see why they'd change.

More wrestling tomorrow.
