Lio update, Cena honored, next week's Impact special, more on Dupree lawsuit, post-Smackdown dark matches, WWE live event press, Rose on suspension, Total Divas and Impact audiences, Nash on '97 WCW, another WWE Encyclopedia, WWE Q1 earnings update, another TNA departure official, and Questions on WWE doing a tag team show, WWE matches as stories, Owens feuding with Saxton, TNA's lack of momentum, and "smart" fans affecting ratings

Lio Rush will be competing on EVOLVE 61, so he's not under an exclusive deal with ROH. It's conceivable he ends up in the GCS and/or NXT at some point.

John Cena was given USO's Legacy of Achievement award at their 75th anniversary event. That's a big honor.

- Cena wrote about receiving the honor.

- Triple H flew back to the States to be part of that event before flying back to work the remainder of the European tour. Wow. Bryan and Taker pulling out of those shows really left him with a busy schedule.

Next week's episode of Impact Wrestling will be this year's TNA Sacrifice special featuring:
- TNA World Championship: Drew Galloway vs. Tyrus
- TNA Tag Team Championship Valley of Shadows match: Beer Money vs. Decay
- TNA King of the Mountain Championship: Eric Young vs. Bram
- No Disqualifications, there must be a winner: Ethan Carter III vs. Mike Bennett

This show features the final appearances of Bobby Roode and Eric Young as contracted talent.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Rene Dupree's lawsuit against WWE has been officially closed. It's possible it's reopened later after the attorneys get a better read of things.

After Smackdown ended, Dolph Ziggler beat Baron Corbin via countout before AJ Styles pinned Alberto Del Rio. I was kind of hoping to see Styles vs. Del Rio for the U.S. Title at WM32.

WWE's live event in Manchester got local press.

Cheeseburger and Delirious vs. the Young Bucks has been added to ROH's upcoming show in San antonio. Delirious has been working more often lately. I'm glad he's not booking himself to be a cental character/main eventer.

Taeler Hendrix vs. Sumie Sakai is set for ROH in Rhode Island.

Tomohiro Ishii vs. Bobby Fish for the ROH Television Championship and War Machine vs. The Briscoes for the ROH Tag Team Championship have been added to the ROH/NJPW War of the Worlds PPV. Both of those make sense. Ishii vs. Fish should really be something.

Adam Rose addressed his Wellness suspension. Hopefully this all gets sorted out for his and his family's sake. His WWE prospects from here are uncertain, being one strike away from dismissal.

The season finale of Total Divas drew 625,000 viewers. The show's coming back AND getting a spinoff, so that level of viewership isn't turning E! off from more of the show and characters.

Impact Wrestling on Tuesday night drew 312,000 viewers for a show headlined by an "I Quit" match between Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy. Some of that number is likely due to the elimination of the replay, and it's possible they got a boost from the rumors of TNA being sold. Whatever the reason, the show had more viewers than the previous two weeks.

Kevin Nash discussed the year 1997 for WCW. These releases are always fun and insightful. Nash can be pretty hilarious.

WWE will release a third version of the WWE Encyclopedia in October.

WWE will report their first quarter earnings on May 10. We'll get more info on how things went for them in January, February, and March on that date.

Christy Hemme has departed TNA. She was only working there on a part-time basis at this point. At least at one time she was part of Creative, booking the Knockouts. No idea what she does from here. I don't see WWE beating her door down.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I could see them doing something special for the Network like the Cruiserweight series, but I don't see a full-fledged tag team show on a permanent basis. It's not like they don't feature tag teams on NXT and their main shows as it is.

2. Both parties here totally missed what he was saying. WWE matches will almost always tell more of a story than what happens in UFC contests because they can control the narrative. It's rare we see something like Sheamus beating Bryan in 18 seconds; there's usually a bigger story of the heel working over the babyface, trading moves in a somewhat even fashion, and that kind of thing. As for the really dry "I want to beat you and take your title" thing, that's a really outdated philosophy in wrestling and only attracts a niche audience. Even though (niche promotion) ROH does that a lot of the time, it ends up resulting in extremely choreographed contests with little-to-no semblance to a "real" fight.

3. I don't see much reason to. That would be a sign of them being out of ideas and ways to get Owens heat. He should be facing "real" competitors and going for titles.

4. I think TNA's shows have been really good this year. They're firing on all cylinders and everyone's going all out with the action. That said, there's only so much good shows with strong action can do about the negative momentum they're experiencing. Quite a few fans have written them off due to past decisions and the feeling the company's circling the drain. With other options available in NXT, ROH, and LU, a lot of fans who were supporting TNA as a WWE alternative are migrating elsewhere.

5. A lot of "smart" fans don't watch live, because they can just watch the show without commercials/skip segments involving people they don't like online the next day. So, a lot of the issue is technological changes between generations. That puts WWE in an interesting situation with USA Network, since they want people watching the shows and commercials as they air. Casual fans don't know who these new people are and do like the big names (Cena, Authority), so I expect they're not paying as much attention to things.

More wrestling tomorrow.
