Superstars Reax - 4/16/16, NXT live event notes, Interview with Eva Marie, WWE sells out in Japan, E&C show finishes shooting, HoH guests and surprises, two Wellness suspensions, and Questions on GCS qualifiers on the Network, bringing Hogan backs, NXT in MSG, and Mid-South DVDs

Superstars:
- Ryback vs. Sandow:
One good thing about Main Event and Superstars is we get to see some wrestlers with some of the chains off. Ryback's impressive here.

I miss seeing Sandow in longer matches.

Ryback's a better wrestler than we see him as a power guy.

Sandow's pretty impressive here. He's crisp in the ring.

Good ending and good match.

- Breeze vs. Ziggler:
I fantasy-booked these two as a tag team and as cousins before Breeze actually came to the main roster. That seemed like a natural direction so Breeze could learn from the former World Champion.

These two match up well as always.

Also, pairing Breeze with Corbin in an odd-couple team could have been pretty fun. Their styles would mesh pretty well, I think.

I'm liking the counter-wrestling here.

Nice ending. It's nice to see a superkick actually finish a match.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Some NXT live event notes:
- Gzim Selmani and Sunny Dhinsa beat up Mojo Rawley after his match with Angelo Dawkins. NXT could use a good hoss team. Selmani has an MMA background and Dhinsa was a Canadian freestyle wrestling champion.

- The main event was Shinsuke Nakamura defeating Samoa Joe. Apparently this was the first time they've ever faced. I hope it's not the last. That could easily be a future NXT Championship match.

Eva Marie talked about her wrestling goals. She's currently still splitting her time between NXT and the main roster.

WWE's Tokyo shows on July 1 and 2 sold out within five minutes. AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Asuka are all advertised for the shows. I would be very surprised if we don't also see Finn Balor, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows there.

The Edge and Christian Show has wrapped its first season of shooting. It's been pretty funny at times so far.

Beulah McGuillicutty, Nicole Bass, Harry Slash (who created a lot of original music for ECW), CZW's David Starr, and Matt Striker were all visiting or backstage at the latest House of Hardcore event.

- Ricky Steamboat appeared on the show itself. As did Kevin Thorn, X-Pac, and Sandman.

- HOH plans to run markets every month in the U.S. Sounds like they're doing pretty well for themselves.

Adam Rose and Konnor were each suspended 60 days for their second violations of WWE's Wellness policy. I'd be more than OK with Adam's "cousin Viktor Rose" joining the Outcasts for two months to cover up for this, since I don't see him getting a singles push. That could be pretty fun. As for what this means for both men's futures, it could easily be justification for not renewing either man's contract. Unless WWE really thinks they're needed to put over newer performers, they're likely on thin ice and unlikely to get much of a spotlight. WWE might decide to try something different entirely with Viktor, or he could be used pretty much at the same level Darren Young has been used without Titus: just hanging out doing random jobs.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I don't expect WWE to livestream the shows or anything, but I imagine we'll see some highlights of the competitors featured from outside promotions.

Nothing to add to 2.

3. Hogan's not "out of the woods" yet from the Gawker issue. WWE's going to keep their distance in case something else majorly negative comes out as the case goes on appeal.

4. It's really expensive to do TV or PPVs from MSG. I think the odds are better for them running other nearby venues, but I wouldn't rule out seeing NXT there someday.

5. If there's money in it, I expect they will. Unless they just want to put it all on the Network to draw fans there.

More wrestling tomorrow.
