New Day member off European tour, assorted WWE press, TMDK talk NXT, Omega-ROH update, WWE content back on DirecTV, big surprise at NXT live event, and Questions on McGregor to WWE, Paragon Pro Wrestling, trademarking, Team Tremendous, and Cody Rhodes

Kofi Kingston has left WWE's European tour in order to join his wife as she goes into labor. He had full permission to do so. Some things are more important than wrestling!

Sheamus, Rusev, and Sasha Banks visited the Manchester City soccer team to get press for WWE's tour.

The former TMDK talked to WWE.com about arriving in NXT:
- I hope they get a good team name/ring names for their new home.

- Australians with years of experience in Japan makes for an interesting combination of cultures.

- It's crazy to stop and think sometimes that people from all over the world want a shot in WWE.

- They talk a big game about the NXT tag team division. The big test will be the main roster.

- A successful tag team of people who don't get along well is a pretty interesting concept.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Kenny Omega is set for ROH's May 11 TV taping, but apparently will not be on the May 8 PPV. I can only imagine the headaches involved with visas given how much crossover there's been been between ROH and NJPW lately.

DirecTV has added WWE Beast in the East and Summerslam 2015 to their video-on-demand section. The company dropped WWE PPVs after the launch of the Network. Getting some money from PPVs is better than getting none, although WWE still wants people to migrate to the Network.

Samoa Joe defeated Finn Balor at a recent live event to become the new NXT Champion. Now that Finn's the longest-reigning champion in the brand's history, they're presumably ready to call him up to the main roster. As for Joe, that's the same town where he first won the TNA Championship, and now he's the only man to be TNA, ROH, AND NXT Champion. Pretty impressive. I assume we're in for Joe vs. Aries or Joe vs. Nakamura next.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. It looks like this is just McGregor playing hardball with UFC. Even if he was "really" retired, he's still under contract there. It's possible something happens where he's released, but I don't think Dana would hand him over to WWE on a silver platter. It would likely be similar to the Punk situation where he'd have to sit out his contract before he could make a move. If that were to happen and he was serious about the career change, I definitely think WWE would consider using him.

2. I feel bad for them leaving Pop and MSG within such a short period of time. Hopefully they make money from the FITE app gig.

3. From the sound of things, it won't be an issue of him using that name post-WWE if things don't work out. Hopefully he's a hit for the company and he doesn't have to use the name anywhere else anytime soon!

4. WWE could be waiting for them to get more experience before giving them a shot. I know it seems like they want to hire everyone who's anyone, but there's only so much room at the Performance Center.

5. It's possible they find Stardust more interesting than Cody and think there's more potential for merchandise with the gimmick. Given the success of Goldust compared to Dustin Rhodes, I can't say I can fault their reasoning.

More wrestling tomorrow.
