Read on for my thoughts on last night's Friday Night Smackdown.
- Invasion preparations:
Ohhhhh this is cool.
I like Sasha interacting with Reigns and Corbin. One thing Smackdown has been lacking is integration of different divisions/feuds into a coherent show.
- Women segment:
I really like the energy here.
Haha NXT not going to be left out.
A little surprised Toni's part of that team.
Ohhhhhhh boy. I like this.
- Sasha vs. Flair vs. Rhea:
I'm very glad to see the "new" NXT names being presented at the level of Charlotte and Sasha.
I like the change of pace of WWE shows lately with so much action spilling out. Everything has felt formulaic, but the NXT invasion has really changed things.
That was all really good. Glad Rhea got the win.

- More Team Smackdown stuff:
Haha. I like King Corbin's plan.
Interesting to have Sami and Shinsuke beef with Corbin, as the usual WWE rule is that all heels and all faces get along with their respective side. Very Justice League vs. Legion of Doom.
- Bayley interview:
That's a lot of different women's titles!
- Sami/Nakamura/UE/Kofi/Big E/HM:
Well that's one way to make Shinsuke's title reign meaningful.
This episode has been very fluid and logical. It's a nice change.
It would have been odd for Sami and Shinsuke to team with New Day.
- Kofi/Big E/HM vs. UE:
UE is such a great faction.
I like UE's teamwork here.
This is pretty solid.
Interesting interaction with the Smackdown wrestlers.
Haha glad Cole didn't take the Caterpillar.
This is quite good.
That was nice!
- Post-match:
NICE surprise from AJ.
This show has been really, really good.
- OC promo:
BASED AJ shutting Punk down.
- Bryan/Miz:
I loved Bryan's promo here. He's reached another level where he doesn't need a colorful gimmick (as much as I loved his eco-friendly run).
Interesting direction with Miz. He had been more of a face lately.
- Bryan vs. Miz:
Solid work as usual from these two.
Not a shock at that ending.
- Shayna/Bayley:
Baszler is such a natural badass.
Hahaha Bayley doing what she criticized Shayna for. VINTAGE heel move.
I liked that a lot. Survivor Series could be a really hot card.
- Roman/Shorty/Ali vs. Corbin/Ziggler/Roode:
I like the action here. Everything feels chaotic.
Glad to see Ali get to shine.
That was a really fun ending.
- Post-match:
Ohhhh boy they're here.
This is wild.
HOLY SHIT that's how you do an invasion!!
REALLY great ending to the show. I haven't been this hype for a WWE show in quite a while.
