Adamle, Linda McMahon, and Tara updates, working under Vince McMahon, Kane's origins, Old WWF Titles, Shotgun Saturday Night/Heat DVDs?, Young stars vs. older stars, WWE video game news, MMA star to wrestle, Smackdown rating and dark match, Trademark news

Former WWE announcer and Raw GM Mike Adamle intends to fight his recent DUI charge. His lawyer says that he demonstrated his sobriety and passed a breathalyzer test, and that Adamle was not intoxicated or
otherwise unable to operate a vehicle legally. I hope this gets cleared up soon. I really don't want to spend too much space on this kind of thing.

Former WWE Creative team member and current ROH Producer Dave Lagana has an article about his time working under Vince McMahon at this link. Pretty interesting, though brief, read.

PWInsider.com has questions as always. First up, someone wants to know why the book that was written about Kane's backstory years back never became a movie. Apparently it didn't sell very well. Also WWE has yet to do a movie on one of its wrestlers. They were thinking of doing one on The Undertaker though. I don't know how far that got. I think it'd be pretty interesting though.

More questions and news after the break.

The next question saw someone confusing one of the older WWF World Titles as the Intercontinental Title. They do look somewhat similar. Here are two I think he or she might have seen: Belt 1 Belt 2

I don't think we'll ever see a history of Shotgun Saturday Night or Heat. It could happen, but I don't see a big demand for it. Some of the matches from those shows could theoretically end up on DVD, but most of them are pretty standard fare. Maybe if someone debuted on one of those shows, it'd make their DVD.

The final question and its answer were spot-on. I recommend reading it and letting that soak in. Yes, matches are performances but you should take them seriously. That being said, relieving stress with jokes behind the scenes could work better for some people. As long as they're not so confident that they're blowing off the match, but I don't know if that's the case. Also, let's be honest, some matches are more "performances" than in-ring battles. I'm looking at you X-Division wrestlers.

In other stories:
"Macho Man" Randy Savage will be in a WWE game for the first time in recent memory with his inclusion in WWE All-Stars. After this and the DVD set in 2009, WWE seems to be softening their stance on the iconic wrestler. Will we see Savage go into the Hall of Fame this year? It's possible, but don't hold your breath. I hope he gets in at some point though.

Linda McMahon is expected to run for Senate again when Joseph Lieberman's term expires in 2012. He will not run for re-election.

Tara is undergoing physical therapy on her shoulder in hopes of avoiding surgery.

Kimbo Slice will wrestle in Japan in February. Could he make the jump to wrestling full time? You'd think that WWE and TNA would consider bringing him on board if that's the case. I think that there'd be a good deal of interest from MMA fans who aren't too closed-minded to give wrestling a watch.

WWE Smackdown did a 1.92 rating this past week on SyFy. This show had more viewers than any episode since the channel switch in October. Very good news for WWE.

Percy Watson worked yet another dark match before Smackdown this week, losing to Tyler Reks. There's still no word on if or when he'll get the call up to the main roster.

TNA has trademarked "Cold Blood" in regards to a wrestling character. I know old WCW fans (or people who have read about old WCW such as myself) might be thinking of the "Blood Runs Cold" angle there involving a wrestler named Glacier, but I wouldn't automatically assume that it's related to him. He's 46 now, and I'm not 100% sure that he still wrestles. His last listed matches were 2 for CHIKARA in 2009.

Finally, former TNA Knockout (and WWE signee) Awesome Kong can no longer legally use that name. TNA is believed to own it, and the trademark has expired without her attempting to renew it. She's still able to wrestle as Amazing Kong as far as I know.

That's all for today. Tomorrow will bring more news.
