WWE Royal Rumble Preview

Here's my quick analysis for how I'd book the Royal Rumble:

Layla beats Natalya to win the Divas' Championship. My guess is they're going for a new angle soon, since this match was just thrown on the card with 6 days left. I would certainly have preferred if they built to Natalya vs. Melina for the Rumble, but it looks like they had a last-minute change of plans. My guess is that they're going for Laycool vs. Amazing Kong. I say you start that with Laycool doing their heel antics to beat Natalya. I liked Natalya as champion but what's the point in rushing a championship rematch just to blow it away?

On Raw, have a Title Celebration for Laycool. Have Natalya interrupt it at the end, and want a rematch of her own. Set it for, let's say in 2 weeks. This week, have Theodore Long or Vickie Guerrero backstage talking on the phone about a new talent soon to be signing before someone comes in to talk about whatever grievance they have that fits another story on the card (or just have Laycool be in there excited making them hang up the phone in order to shoo them out or whatever). The next week, have them say that they've been officially signed, again on the phone. The week of the match have Alicia Fox as a special guest on Smackdown telling Vickie or Theodore Long (whoever's in charge) that she doesn't get enough TV time. Then have Alicia be "introduced" to the new talent, who will be off-screen. Alicia should look scared of her. This will be her first opponent on Smackdown, at Elimination Chamber. Have Alicia try to get out of the match in the weeks to come, but not actually be able to.

Laycool can be on Raw for a while, and/or face Kaitlyn, Kelly, and Rosa to get them some TV time and chances to improve. Kong debuts at EC vs. Alicia and wins, then destroys some indy women for some time on Smackdown and a rematch with Alicia before she faces Layla. Have her beat Layla, but have Michelle say that she's the champion. Then have Michelle duck her until WrestleMania, when Kong wins the title. It's a little sloppy, but I'm kind of in a hurry right now.

C.M. Punk should win the Royal Rumble with some help by the New Nexus. If Triple H is ready to return, have him come back and brawl with Sheamus, eliminating him from the Rumble. They fight their way backstage.

The Miz should go over Randy Orton. It shouldn't be a total fluke, but he shouldn't destroy him either. If you're building to something with Cole and King, have King break up a pin by Miz after he cheats/puts his feet on the ropes/whatever. That makes Cole come out of his seat, and they fight. Miz wins in the distraction, possibly by Riley or Cole using the briefcase.

Edge beats Dolph Ziggler by using the spear after Vickie is inadvertently knocked off the apron by Ziggler. The referee will miss the spear because he's momentarily checking on Vickie, so he'll count the cover. Ziggler should put up a fight in this match, and mainly go down because of what happened to Vickie. (He'll be upset, turn around, and get speared).

The goal with all this is to eventually lead to Punk vs. Orton (Orton wins in the Elimination Chamber), Edge vs. Del Rio (Ziggler gets a rematch on Smackdown and/or as part of the Elimination Chamber match), McCool vs. Kong, Sheamus vs. HHH, and King vs. Riley at WrestleMania. Wade Barrett vs. The Undertaker should happen then as well.

That's my somewhat convoluted and rushed look at how I'd book the Rumble. Coverage of that event comes later tonight!
