DVD news, Against All Odds correction, Nexus and Corre combined?, Kong vs. Kim, WWE and its history, more Hall of Famers, Scott Hall update, Booker T. returning?, Osborne's organs donated, Superstars and Impact ratings, Stone Cold back in WWE, WWE executive to leave

TNA's Mick Foley DVD will be out 4/19.

Kazarian will defend his X-Division Title in a 4-way match at Against All Odds, facing the winners of the 3 triple threat matches on Impact. I incorrectly stated otherwise in my thoughts on Impact last night.

WWE has DVDs in the works on their "Biggest Knuckleheads", "The WrestleMania Story" and what is billed as the final DX DVD. Mark that first one under "things you wouldn't see during the Attitude Era". That's pretty goofy. But if it sells, it sells.

PWInsider.com has more questions up. The first question (sort of) asks about Nexus and the Corre being under the same leadership. The whole point of The ex-Nexus members being in The Corre is that they didn't agree with Punk's leadership. So no, they're not working together unless we're in for a swerve.

Secondly, someone wants to know if the former Awesome Kong will face Gail Kim in WWE. If they're on the same brand and on opposite sides of the face/heel coin, it's pretty much certain. Just don't expect them to mention that they feuded in TNA. Although, if they didn't mention TNA, they could still say that they have a past that's transcended into WWE.

The next question is about WWE ignoring what its past wrestlers have done. For my response to that, and much more news, read on...

The questioner talks about WWE leaving out the fact that Chyna eliminated 2 men in the Royal Rumble in years past when saying that Beth Phoenix was "the first diva to ever eliminate a male superstar". It could very well have just been an oversight, or someone forgetting that Chyna did that. Or it could be them downplaying someone they're not on great terms with. Or it could even be them trying to get Beth Phoenix over more by fudging history like that. I don't know which it is for sure.

Next someone wonders when other people will be announced for this year's Hall of Fame class. My guess is after Elimination Chamber. I mean, they only have so many names going in (presumably) and I think they'd want to do one per week leading to WrestleMania like they normally do.

Finally, someone wants to know what's more enjoyable, War Games or the Royal Rumble. I was always a WWE fan growing up, so I've seen many more Rumbles than War Games matches. I'm a big fan of the Rumble, so it's pretty much got this hands-down.

Scott Hall recently had a pacemaker/defibrillator put in his heart. Some of the reason is genetic, and some is due to his drug issues over the years. He's presently mentoring former WWE wrestler Ricky Ortiz.

He says that people who aren't his friends shouldn't talk about his personal life. I consider such things as wrestling news, so I cover them. He's been to about nine different rehabs, and is now going to a psychiatric hospital to deal with his problems. I hope he's able to overcome them, and I'm not even really a Scott Hall fan. If he's still able to contribute to the wrestling world, good for him.

Booker T. has canceled some appearances this weekend for a convention, leading some to wonder if he could be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble. It's also possible that he could have a full-on return to WWE. I'd be somewhat surprised if TNA wasn't courting him for a MEM return as well. Booker's a respected veteran and can still add to a wrestling product, so I think this could end up being a good thing. If it's just a one-off appearance, it will still be a nice "nostalgia pop" and show how important the Royal Rumble is.

Recently deceased wrestler Shawn Osborne's organs were donated, as per his wishes. Thirty people were helped by this act, including a young girl who can now see for the first time. At least a measure of good can be taken from that unfortunate happening.

TNA Impact pulled in a 1.28 rating this week. Wow. That's pretty good for them and bodes well for next week's important episode.

WWE Superstars also bumped up this week, to a .64 and .17 on replay. Some have said that having "Jersey Shore" back on TV meant that more people were watching TV total that night, and that's part of the reason for these bumps.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that WWE megastar Stone Cold Steve Austin will be returning as the host of the relaunch of Tough Enough. That's big news. People will certainly tune in to see how that turns out, and that could mean a solid rating for the show. It's presently scheduled for a trial run of 10 episodes, and could end up a regular fixture on USA.

Update: He will also be a mentor on the show. That's insanely valuable for the contestants.

WWE Director and COO Donna Goldsmith will be leaving the company at the end of February. Interesting... I wonder what this means in the larger picture of things and if it has anything to do with WWE's recent financial setbacks.

That's all of today's news. Tomorrow's news will be covered when it comes in.
