NXT stars get some love, Interview with Hogan, Punk update, Cheaters: WrestleMania Edition, Fandangoing continues, Impact audience, rejected WWE Title designs, Stephanie blows plans, and Questions on Gut Check, TNA acknowledging WWE, Bizarro fans, refs, and Benoit

The NXT talents who worked Axxess were included in the WrestleMania program. Bo Dallas, Xavier Woods, Paige, Emma, Audrey Marie, Kassius Ohno, Jake Carter, Adrian Neville, and Corey Graves all competed that weekend.

Hulk Hogan talked ahead of Impact in Corpus Christi. He's become a cartoon caricature of himself. He's right that he's been around a while. The "exciting young talent" he put over were 35-year-old Jeff Hardy (fine I guess), 41-year-old Bully Ray (umm), 44-year-old Kurt Angle (no), and 54-year-old Sting (I SEE YOU TROLL). I'm guessing he didn't mean to say "young" in that sentence. But what does that say when he puts over four guys probably best known for their work outside of TNA and doesn't mention AJ Styles, James Storm, Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, etc..?

C.M. Punk will apparently not need surgery, but is still said to be pretty hurt. I don't expect him to get back in the ring for a stretch, which is for the best. If anyone's earned time off, it's him. It's a shame that the most important guys in WWE are either part-timers or hurting (if not both).

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Apparently a fan at WrestleMania went to the show with her husband. Sounds normal, right? Well, according to her sign, the husband was in another section with the person he was cheating on her with. No word on whether this is setting up a wedding ring on a pole match for WM30. Sign Guy could special referee. I mean, how do you respond to a story like that?

The Houston Texans cheerleaders danced to the Fandango theme. Just when I think I've seen everything, this happens.

Also, PETA is on the bandwagon, and Everton FC might play the song at their next game. I have no idea if people are into the theme song and gimmick ironically or what.

Thursday's Impact Wrestling dropped to 1.17 million viewers, its lowest audience since October. Wrestling fans, I am disappoint.

Here are some rejected designs for the WWE Championship. Those aren't half bad. They're all bad. DOH.. HOHOHOHOHO. Nah, I like the eagle one alright. None of them were especially amazing, though.

Apparently 2K Sports isn't pleased that Stephanie McMahon spilled the beans about the cover for WWE 2K14. Sounds like a miscommunication or lack of communication. And once more, the part-time guy is given space ahead of the full-timers.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. First off, they didn't sign Magno. At any rate, to some degree they pick people they can mold into future superstars through work in OVW. I don't think there's any big pattern to why they do what they do, but that's the best guess I have.

2. It's perfectly ok with me that they acknowledge how successful someone was somewhere else to pump up how big of an acquisition they are, as long as they don't overdo it.

3. Probably Bizarro World. If that happened more frequently, maybe we'd see a change.

4. The more you know. I learned something new today.

5. I could see WWE removing Benoit had he been inducted before the murder-suicide, and I wouldn't blame them. They could not have gotten worse press than that.

More wrestling tomorrow, including (hopefully) some Blue Echo podcasts!
