Main Event Reax - 12/18/13, Punk a part of trademark trouble, last main event at FCW Arena, HBK appearance, WWE talent appearing, Interview with Edge, NXT updates and Questions on a big Bryan angle, Cena with The Authority, post-Creative careers and getting rid of Vince

Main Event:
Well that was something. I've got to cut WWE some slack given how much screen time they've got to fill every year. And that certainly wasn't the worst Christmas segment they've booked.

Nice tag match between Truth/Woods and 3MB. Truth and Woods really need a team name, but I digress. Woods seems to be getting more comfortable in the ring, and that's great to see.

I enjoyed AJ vs. Kaitlyn. They always have good chemistry. I hope both become wildly successful.

Fun main event. The Santa stuff didn't take away from things too much.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

WWE is facing opposition to its trademark of "Second City Saint" as a nickname for C.M. Punk. An improv/comedy club called "The Second City" is the entity going after it. I'm sure people were really confused. What about the blog Second City Cop? Or Second City Hockey?

The main event at the final live event at the FCW Arena will be NXT Champion Bo Dallas vs. Billy Gunn. If there was any doubt of WWE being behind Dallas, I think it's dissipated now.

Country star Colton James has Shawn Michaels in a music video. No Daniel Bryan, though.

WWE talents will be at Fort Bragg's Sports USA on 1/3/14. No details on specific names at this time.

Here are some notes from a recent Edge interview. Yes, there was a time before WWE had a developmental territory.

Mickey Keegan is no longer an NXT superstar. He's been moved to being a creative assistant for NXT. I hope that's the right move. NXT as a whole has gotten rave reviews at times.

WWE has renamed NXT signee Leah Van Damme as Carmella and Ashley Sebera as Dana Brooke. That wouldn't be the first Carmella in WWE history. Though who's to say two Divas can't have the same first name, nearly ten years apart?

Jimmy Wang Yang talked about his wrestling career and life after it. And the number of TNA references on WWE.com stays at zero. Good story about his career, though.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
Nothing to add to 1.

2. People hated Austin turning heel at WM17. Why end the biggest show of the year with the top babyface turning heel after all this time of trying to overcome the odds put forth by the Authority? That sounds really silly. He should be making HHH tap. I don't dislike the idea of Punk vs. Bryan at WM31, but I don't see it being as big of a deal as those in the reality distortion field of the IWC think it will be. Neither man currently has the mainstream appeal of the part-timers or Cena. They're getting more popular, but not at that level yet.

3. It looks like they were doing that just to build intrigue and work the "smarks" into thinking a heel turn could be coming so they'd buy TLC.

4. It depends on how you define prominence. There have definitely been people who have gone on to other jobs in the entertainment business, for instance Chris DeJoseph and Alex Greenfield.

5. Well, first, the product would actually have to tank. WWE's still in a really sound spot, even if it's not where it could be. Anyway, Vince is pretty much set for life.

More wrestling tomorrow.
