Punk tweet gets attention, Kane in-ring update, WM31 hype begins, new WCW releases upcoming, NXT guests, WWE press, Hogan stirs the pot, more on WWE's new signing, TNA seeking Indian talent, WWE charity, Interview with Petey Williams, Smackdown audience, complete list of Slammys winners, former World Champ out and Questions on WWE's titles, Sin Cara, Hogan at Mania, WWE building new stars and Sheamus at TLC

C.M. Punk tweeted this, presumably a shot at WWE's App. I hope someone tallied how many times they mentioned the App last night.

To follow up on the lineup for WWE's return to Madison Square Garden, Kane vs. Big Show in a steel cage match with Booker T. as the special referee has been set for 12/28 in New Jersey. This live event loop will be the first time Kane has wrestled since becoming Director of Operations. Kane and Show have been facing off for 14 1/2 years. Anyway, I don't know when we'll see Kane step back into the ring on TV, but it will be interesting to see what he'll wrestle in given his new character.

Booker T. and Sheamus were at a recent 49ers game to promote WrestleMania 31 coming to San Francisco. I wonder when Sheamus will be coming back. I kind of miss him. I think he's a great performer, but was getting quite stale. His character hasn't changed much in a while.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
WWE is planning more WCW-themed DVDs after the success of the DVDs based on Nitro, Goldberg and Wargames. I can't help but speculate if they'll try to get Goldberg and/or Sting for a short run to play off that. They should at least think about it, as they don't have long to get either performer while they can still compete at a certain level.

The Bellas, The Wyatt Family and The Miz are set for the next NXT taping on 1/9/14. That's an interesting combination.

Sports reporter Michelle Beadle was at Tribute to the Troops. I wonder what they have planned for this year's version.

John Cena was also in San Francisco recently ahead of the official press conference for WrestleMania 31. Who will he beat at that event, I wonder.

Hulk Hogan claimed on Twitter he was advertised for TNA's upcoming tour in the UK, referring to some information Ticketmaster UK had up. TNA never advertised him as part of the tour, and there are no plans to re-sign him to work the events.

WWE's new signing from the UK was briefly profiled. I'd actually be interested in his gimmick being a soccer player if WWE just wanted him in a goofy comedy role.

Here's a story on Kurt Angle and Gail Kim being in India, with Angle noting TNA is looking for talent from there. It will be really interesting to see which global markets grow in the years to come.

Here are details on a charity auction to fight breast cancer involving some of Lilian Garcia's wardrobe. WWE and Susan G. Komen are definitely pretty tight.

The latest edition of Pro Wrestling 101 features Petey Williams. Scott D'Amore really guided Petey in the right direction. Petey has an education and they knew he was truly dedicated to the business. That's great. I like the idea of Petey using the rest of the match to set up for the Destroyer (i.e. working on the neck, wearing the opponent down to get them in position for it, etc.) instead of it just being his cool, flashy spot. I seem to remember him using the Sharpshooter for a time, but that seems like something of a departure from what he's known for with the Destroyer. Good advice for future wrestlers. If you're truly dedicated to being a performer, that's pretty much what your whole day centers around. If you can't be assed to go to the gym and have a good diet, maybe wrestling's not for you. And that's not a knock on anyone in particular.

Smackdown hit 2.84 million viewers last Friday. Not a bad mark to hit. That's an increase from the previous week.

Here's a list of the winners for all of the 2013 Slammys. Maybe now I can go a while without hearing about them.

Alberto Del Rio is said to have gotten a concussion from his match with Sin Cara on Raw. WWE is pulling him from the ring until he undergoes evaluation. Good on WWE for being proactive in that area.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Why wouldn't WWE be connected to the legacy of the former WCW Title? They own WCW!

2. There were a number of issues with the original Sin Cara: a perceived ego due to him skipping working in developmental, injuries, the Wellness violation and (of course) the botches. Hunico's in a much better place as far as all those factors are concerned. So, they're giving him a shot. I'm personally glad. He's too good to not be featured.

3. I guess I could live with that IF it brought more money into the WWE coffers than it cost to use Hogan. That's definitely the last I want to see/hear of Hogan, though.

4. I'd be very surprised if they knew what the undercard guys were doing at this stage. Cena, Orton and those other names mentioned are the most pushed performers in the company, so of course they're going to get the most questions about them. There's much more buzz about them than what the undercard guys will do. RVD might not be going anything, but I could see Cody vs. Goldust going down. As for WWE's recent track record, Bryan headlined four straight PPVs and didn't lose clean at any of them. I thought that's what people wanted? Anyway, I don't know if we'll get MITB at Mania since it has its own PPV now. That didn't stop them with doing HHH and Taker inside Hell in a Cell, but those guys kind of have their own set of rules.

5. I'd be surprised if they used Sheamus that way. It'd be kind of cool for Sheamus to be the Authority centerpiece facing Bryan at Mania, though.

More wrestling tomorrow.
