NXT star working live events, another big name at Slammys, top indie name makes NXT debut, WM31 location and Questions on Daniel Bryan (again), heading TNA Creative, Cena denial and independent contractors

NXT's Alexander Rusev is working this weekend's WWE live events. He made Zack Ryder submit. I kind of get Umaga vibes from him as far as being a big, "savage" dude. He doesn't have a lot of experience, so I'd be surprised if he made it to the main roster unless the higher-ups are so impressed with his size that they give him a shot. Either way, I think developmental's in pretty good shape as far as potential future call-ups goes.

Mick Foley will be at the Slammys to present the Most Extreme Moment Slammy. Fitting.

Solomon Crowe, the former Sami Callihan, made his debut at an NXT live event, with an attack on Kalisto. Kalisto's another well-received indie sensation, formerly wrestling as Samuray del Sol. Needless to say, there's some buzz about him making his mark down in WWE developmental.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

WrestleMania 31 will be held in the vicinity of San Francisco, CA, at the new home of the 49ers.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain! The official "smark" party line is that Daniel Bryan is totally being buried by the powers that be and may never recover. It's totally Vince keeping him down. I can't believe their answer conflicted with this obvious fact. Seriously, though, WWE's treatment of Bryan is all in the story they want to tell with him. It's really rare that they're out to throw someone under a bus. If they wanted to depush Bryan, they could easily have had Orton beat him clean at Night of Champions to end the feud, then had Bryan go down the card immediately. Instead, he's either won or been protected in every PPV match since Payback. The only ways he's lost major matches have been due to outside help. As for losing to Sheamus, the story was that he had been lucky to survive his title matches up to that point, and Sheamus was the one to finally put a stop to his charades when he took his eye off the ball.

Nothing to add to 2.

3. They have a pretty good answer there. TNA's got some good people on the current creative team who should be given a chance to show what they can do. I'd be curious to see how Al Snow and/or Gabe Sapolsky would do if given a chance. Obviously, Paul Heyman and Zeb Colter are a little busy right now. Definitely not Jim Cornette.

4. I must have missed where Daniel Bryan, C.M. Punk, etc. got their own clothing deal with Kmart, the cover of Fruity Pebbles, movies on Nickelodeon, etc. I know it's the cool thing to pretend Cena's not a big deal, but he really is.

5. This one gets brought up a lot. Basically because there's not a wrestlers' union and WWE hasn't been pressured to classify them as anything else.

More wrestling tomorrow.
