TTTT Reax - 12/28/13, Impact audience, more TNA/HOH crossover, Park-Abyss update, Interview with Bully Ray, Y2J to talk to Hart, past Mania celebrity talks, Styles-TNA update, more Ricardo and Questions on TNA's top face and the Rumble

Tribute to the Troops:
I can only wonder how the Wyatt Family gimmick would fit with this kind of show.

Can't say I'm surprised with how the opening match ended. That's kind of par for the course with the Wyatts.

This feels like a setup for another tag match when Wyatt interferes.

Good little match while it lasted. This is kind of a fluff show, but I can't really complain.

I bet the odds are about 100:1 in favor of Cena, Punk and Bryan (if not higher).

That was a good six-man for what it was. This show's not about the in-ring action.

Not much to say about the non-wrestling stuff, other than I wonder if Beadle will be invited back after the confrontation with AJ.

Another quick match going to the babyface. It's kind of "escapism" tonight.

I liked Sandow's promo. I'd mark out hard if he beat Show clean.

Well, so much for that. Feel-good show it is.

Good ending.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Impact's audience went up to 1.35 million viewers. That's very encouraging. They haven't done that well since September. Hopefully that's a good sign for the new heel faction, though with Jeff Hardy "leaving", I see rough waters ahead for ratings. TNA's really going to have to make people care about some other performers.

At TNA's live event in Philadelphia, Ethan Carter III put out an open challenge. Tommy Dreamer answered, but lost. Dreamer was then involved in the main event of the show, preventing Bully Ray from escaping Mr. Anderson's wrath in a steel cage match. Dreamer will be a part of TNA's upcoming PPV tapings, but I don't believe he'll appear for TNA going forward.

Also on that show, Joseph Park remained in that persona. So, he's not "officially" back to being Abyss yet (though I believe he'll work as Abyss on the upcoming PPV tapings).

Bully Ray talked about the upcoming TNA PPVs. The writer has quite the inflated opinion of Bully. He had a pretty good run from turning heel to close to the end of the Aces and Eights, but a number of top matches used smoke and mirrors to get by - a bunch of big bumps and heel shenanigans to cover how he's not the worker he used to be. Some of the blame lies on his opponents also being limited these days - Sting in particular. As for why he's stuck with TNA, it also probably has something to do with WWE not seeing as much value in him as they do (and rightfully so). Notable that Bully put over several WWE stars (though he put over TNA stars, too).

Bret Hart will be on Chris Jericho's podcast on 1/8 and 1/15/14. I wonder how much they'll talk about that thing that happened in 1997 with Shawn Michaels.

Snooki made mention of WrestleMania in a recent interview, notably on how scary the experience was. It was scary for some wrestling fans, too.

The negotiations between TNA and its former World Champion AJ Styles are said to have gone south, with it being unlikely Styles will return there. In fact, Styles has accepted a booking at an upcoming ROH TV taping. The kicker is that that TV taping is in Nashville, TN, home of TNA's headquarters and a long-time base for the company.

Sin Cara beat El Local (Ricardo Rodriguez) at a recent WWE live event. I wonder if/when we'll see Ricardo move into a more regular wrestling role on TV.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I can see Angle moving into that role once his feud with Roode wraps up. I wouldn't be holding my breath for Sting re-signing. TNA has their direction set leading to Genesis, but where they go after that is unknown.

2. That could be really cool. I'd be OK with that. WWE can play around with which top names go where at Mania - does Batista face Orton or Taker? If Batista gets Orton, Brock can get Taker and Bryan can get HHH (or HBK?). I think that might be where I want for them to go. We've gotten Bryan vs. Orton too much for me to see it as really fresh. But there's a lot of time between now and Mania.

Nothing to add to 3, 4 or 5, as those were just matter-of-fact questions.

More wrestling tomorrow.
