Main Event Reax - 3/18/14, what happened after Raw, TNA contract updates, Mysterio news, why Backstage Pass was early, UFC star at WM31?, Angle update, latest on Bryan, Raw audience and Questions on New Jack, throwing fire, Punk and Beth Phoenix in TNA

Main Event:
Truly fantastic opening tag match. Everyone deserves applause for that one. My high praises for Goldust come from having seen him as Black Reign. I'm extremely proud of him for turning things around both personally and professionally.

Great work from Naomi there and I'm very glad to see Layla back at full force.

I liked how Titus wasn't afraid of Show. He showed more here than he has in some of his other recent bookings.

That was pretty cool with Heyman and Taker. I still pop for some of the supernatural stuff.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Here are details on Mick Foley's major charity raffle to get tickets to WrestleMania and more. I personally think it'd be excusable to miss class to go to Mania.

After Raw, Daniel Bryan was taken away on a stretcher. This lead to The Undertaker teaming with John Cena in the dark match to defeat Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. That's pretty cool!

Bad Influence and Chris Sabin simply weren't booked for TNA's most recent round of tapings, which is certainly worthy of speculating about. I don't know Sabin's contract status, but Bad Influence's deals are believed to be up sometime in April.

There's not believed to be anything to the rumors of Brooke Tessmacher leaving TNA. I've enjoyed her run. It's been a very pleasantly unexpected turnaround from her WWE days.

Rey Mysterio has been doing a lot of promotional work for WWE lately. His TV absence has some speculating on his future.

Update: Mysterio gave an interview in Spanish indicating he's not going to AAA, he doesn't plan on retiring anytime soon and he might be in the Andre battle royal at Mania. So, at least according to him, he intends to stay with WWE.

Raw Backstage Pass began airing on the WWE Network before Raw went off the air in order to be done in time for scheduled programming to roll out. There are still kinks being worked out.

UFC's Ronda Rousey is open to working Wrestlemania 31. WWE insists their audience is very different demographically from UFC and I don't think Dana White wants his legit fighters doing worked matches, so don't count on that one.

Kurt Angle anticipates returning to the ring soon. TNA's next tapings are on April 10. I wonder what he'll be doing at Slammiversary?

As one might expect, WWE is running an injury angle with Daniel Bryan. If Cena overcame an injury to win two top matches at WrestleMania, we'd never hear the end of it. SUPERBRYANWINSLOL?

Raw was down to 4.08 million viewers this week, the lowest mark in four months. That's not a good sign for this season and for a show featuring top stars doing big things. It'd be great to know WHY those people didn't watch this week.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:

1. That makes sense. Music rights and such are important.

2. I remember James Mitchell using fire during the Sting/Abyss feud and the surprisingly recent use of it in ROH, but obviously it's not something WWE wants to touch. It's a really cool visual but can only be done by those who are really good at it.

Nothing to add to 3. Not a bad theory, but that's not it.

4. It's bizarre to me how many questions there have been about setting up Punk vs. Bryan instead of having Bryan get his moment in the sun at Mania. After so many months of Bryan being shafted and fan complaints, suddenly some people are OK with that if it leads to a feud we've seen before. Oy vey.

5. I'm under the impression she's happily moved into another stage of her life. Never say never, and I'd definitely say a WWE return is more likely, but I don't really see it happening.

More wrestling tomorrow.
