Former WCW and AWA announcer passes, TNA business moving forward, former TNA Champion injured, WWE charity, "Yes!" movement continues, Interview with Lawler, WWE scouting internationally, another NXT special in the works, WWE going international, Ambrose note, update on new WWE signings, World Title match on Impact?, JR fires shots at talent development, Smackdown audience, new Extreme Rules match and Questions on the Streak ending, HHH if he breaks up with Stephanie, Del Rio's lack of a push and the future of Evolution

Lee Marshall, who in addition to voicing Tony the Tiger in recent years was an announcer in AWA and WCW, has passed away. Honestly, 67's really not that old. I wish his family and friends the best.

Update: WWE put out a statement on his passing. That's cool of them.

There's talk of new talent additions to TNA. That's great! They can definitely continue to grow as some parts of the roster look kind of bare right now.

TNA is talking of doing more TV tapings in New York City in August. That could be cool. They definitely need to find a location for them.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Bully Ray says he suffered a bruised rib and a fractured rib as a result of his match at Sacrifice. Ouch! I'm sure we'll see him back in action before too long, though.

WWE raised more than $400,000 for children's charities. Great for them!

Fans at a Pittsburgh Penguins hockey game broke out into a "Yes!" chant. Pretty cool.

Jerry Lawler talked about a number of topics relating to his career. That Grizzlies appearance was pretty cool.

WWE has plans for at least one more live special for NXT in 2014 following Takeover. I'm not surprised at all. There's a long time between May 29 and the end of the year after all.

WWE will be running a show in Colombia in October. That's cool.

Dean Ambrose is now the longest reigning U.S. Champion in WWE history. It might be best for them to have him drop it since he's already got a lot going on push-wise.

Drake Younger has worked his last indy date before heading to NXT. He's expected to work as a referee, interestingly enough. I'm curious to see how he would have done as a wrestler.

A model and actress by the name of Leyvonna Zakari will soon be working at the WWE Performance Center. She had a tryout a few months back. I hope she does well.

WWE will have another big training camp in June. HHH is REALLY on top of this talent development thing. He's more than a solid B+ player as far as his backstage roles go.

Eric Young is set to defend the TNA World Heavyweight Championship on Thursday's Impact. He is a fighting champion; that's for sure. There's a valid concern of World Title matches being need to mostly be saved for PPVs and I mostly agree. They could have something in mind here, though.

Jim Ross was very critical of the state of new talent development in wrestling. I think he's missing the mark here. WWE's come a long way in this area under HHH and TNA's catching up in some regards. There are a lot of independent promotions in the U.S. and elsewhere to pull from, talent-wise, and both top companies are doing this. Could things be better? Sure. But I think both companies know the problem and are looking to remedy it.

Smackdown did 2.56 million viewers on Friday. It will be very interesting to see what the numbers are for the rest of the year, particularly if they go live on Tuesdays.

WWE has added Rob Van Dam vs. Cesaro vs. Jack Swagger to Sunday's PPV. That could be pretty cool. I feel like putting RVD over here would be kind of short-sighted if he's just sticking around for a few months again.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I really hate generalizations like "everyone else (doesn't) buy it". Such sloppy overstatements take away from the credibility of the person asking the question. I'm guessing there was some kind of contingency where Brock or Heyman or someone in the back would call an audible and let the ref in on it if something went wrong with Taker. But this was the planned finish. Even if it wasn't, I can't blame the ref if he blew the call because his job is to call three counts when someone's shoulders are down for a three. They had to go with an improvised finish when Kaitlyn won the battle royal to face Layla and (more famously) at the 2005 Royal Rumble. The refs call what they see.

2. Yeah, I think Haitch has enough pull and such a solid resume he'd be safe if such a thing happened. I think he and Stephanie are professional enough to work things out. No way does he go to TNA.

3. Pretty much that. WWE's high on Big E and wants to build him up. There's a vicious cycle where they won't push Del Rio or Christian because they could be leaving soon and they might be leaving soon because management won't get behind them. It's pretty frustrating.

Nothing to add to 4.

5. Yeah, Evolution's a short-term thing. Batista's probably leaving to go promote his movie after Extreme Rules. I also see The Shield getting pushed from this. HHH and Orton might want to get someone else on their side, but I'd be really surprised if it's the high-flying babyface Neville or the goofy undercard act Bo Dallas.

More wrestling tomorrow.
