NXT taping note, TNA India tour update, Pop coverage updates, ROH live event notes, another title for ROH?, regular WWF performer passes away, Styles saying goodbye to ROH, WWEPC guest trainer, Interviews with Alicia/Flair, more on Bullet Club to WWE, new match for Rumble, first Rumble entrant, Smackdown preview, new method for getting merch at events, what's advertised for WWE in MSG, and former tag champ opening wrestling school

The Jan. 22 NXT taping will feature Sami Zayn vs. Samoa Joe and Bayley defending the NXT Women's Championship against Carmella. I expect Asuka or someone to get involved in that title match. Asuka vs. Bayley could be a really good.

The WWEPC will have another all access event on Jan. 23. I need to go to one of those one day.

TNA is looking to go to India this summer after postponing their tour from December. It will be interesting to see how TNA does there.

Pop has officially been added to Cablevision. So, viewers of that service will be able to watch Impact on Tuesdays going forward.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Comcast will soon be moving Pop to a secondary tier, so fewer viewers of theirs will be able to watch TNA without paying extra. Whether fans will just dump Comcast to watch it online somehow will be interesting to see. Not sure how this will affect the "official" viewership numbers, but the number of TV sets physically on that channel at that time is how things are calculated. Things should definitely be updated in that regard for 2016. A lot of people just don't watch things on TV anymore.

Jay Lethal wasn't part of ROH's live events this weekend as he was in the UK facing Rey Mysterio. That's a pretty big match for him, and for ROH.

Bobby Eaton of the Midnight Express visited at an ROH event this weekend. I'm a little surprised he didn't make a surprise appearance like Bushwhacker Luke.

ROH's live events this weekend were a near sellout and an actual sellout. I wonder how being on a bigger TV platform than a year ago is affecting things.

ROH could add another championship later in the year. Unless it's a women's championship with a division dedicated to it, I don't see any reason to add on another title. I guess it could be for which performer has the most superkicks and dives to the outside. There'd be fierce competition for that one.

Stevie Richards and a number of Bullet Club members are booked for this weekend's ROH events. I think Richards would be a valuable addition there. Gallows and Anderson are staying with ROH/NJPW for the next month or so at least.

Former WWF talent "Iron" Mike Sharpe passed away at the age of 64. I really hope he goes into the HoF. He was really important in an underappreciated role. PWInsider covered his career

Update: WWE.com put out an article remembering him.

AJ Styles will make a farewell appearance for ROH in Georgia, signing autographs and taking pictures. Styles is from that state, so it's a fitting end to his run. I wish him the best wherever he's headed next. I hope he does big things.

Dave Taylor was recently a guest trainer at the WWE Performance Center. I think he'd be a good fit there.

Alicia Fox talked about "Total Divas." I think she's a fine wrestler and character. I just don't see pushing her with so many other talented people coming up through NXT.

There has been communication between AJ Styles and WWE, but there's no word on whether he's undergone medical testing or if he's signed or anything. We'll find out soon enough. He teased appearing at the Rumble at an independent show in the UK. AJ potentially being in WWE is a big story; he's got to be the biggest name in the modern era who's never ended up in WWE (outside of one appearance on Jakked way back when).

Doc Gallows has been in WWE's facilities to do medical testing. However, since Karl Anderson is still under contract to NJPW and the duo is advertised for ROH and NJPW in February, we probably won't see him in WWE just yet.

TNA had conversations with Styles, Gallows, and Anderson to end up there, but didn't come to terms. I can see why they really made a play to get them into the fold (or back into the fold in Styles and Gallows' case), but they can't compete with WWE's money.

NJPW owns all the copyrights/trademarks related to the Bullet Club, so WWE can't call the group that name. Balor Club, though, is a WWE trademark. That's likely the name they'll use for the group if/when performers make the migration from NJPW. Remember, nothing's in stone yet. No one's been signed.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Kalisto for the U.S. Championship has been added to the Royal Rumble PPV. It should be pretty good, based on their previous encounters.

Ric Flair talked about working with his daughter and more:
- TMZ would have LOVED Ric.

- I can only imagine what would happen if Flair criticized the company while he and his daughter are working there. I'd hate for it to mean heat for Charlotte.

Roman Reigns will be the first man in the Royal Rumble. I'm in favor of the "Reigns as champion" experiment, but he shouldn't win from number one. That would be incredibly ridiculous.

Set for Smackdown this week is MizTV with Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens, while Roman Reigns will face LoN in a handicap match. I really hope we don't see Roman beat all of them by himself. He shouldn't be booked as Super-Roman.

WWE is promoting a method of digitally pre-ordering merchandise ahead of or while at an event called WWE Shop Express. I think that's a great idea.

WWE is advertising Reigns, Ambrose, the Wyatt Family, LoN, New Day, the Usos, and Owens for their March 25 show in MSG. No big surprises there.

Trevor Murdoch is opening a wrestling school in Kansas City with another Harley Race trainee. I wonder how that will end up working out.
