Superstars Reax - 1/16/16, NXT+ROH+WWE live event notes, TNA announces another match for UK tour, problems for NXT in Chicago, and Questions on this year's female HoF inductee, Hogan returning, remembering Piper, and Y2J's latest run

Superstars:
I'm rather surprised the Dudleys are working Superstars. I expected them to be a bigger part of things.

- Dudleys vs. Ascension:
Bubba and D-Von have still got it! They're doing good work.

Good stuff overall.

I liked that match!

- Breeze vs. Swagger:
Fine wrestling so far.

These two work together rather nicely.

I liked that match overall. At least Swagger can beat someone. I just wish Breeze had more going on; he's already "just another wrestler" instead of a character they can do good things with.

I liked the Outcasts promo well enough. It's a clear case of "well, we don't have anything else for any of you to do," but it's fine for that purpose.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
In a second NXT Florida live event this weekend:
-  Maybe Wolfe is the third Vaudevillain?

- A number of former indie/international names working here, which is exciting.

Nothing especially noteworthy came out of the second Midwest NXT live event. The roster was shuffled into different matches and such, but nothing as newsworthy as Owens' surprise appearance the night before.

Kurt Angle vs. Bobby Roode has been announced for the Jan. 30 Impact TV taping in the UK. That should be a really great contest. Angle's definitely making the most of his last month as a wrestler for TNA.

A Connecticut judge has allowed one of the concussion-related lawsuits against WWE to move to the discovery stage, meaning Vito and Evan Singleton can get access to WWE records related to their health during their employment for the purpose of trying to prove their allegations of WWE not protecting their health after suffering concussions. WWE can file a motion to argue the discovery phase shouldn't go forward, and they've previously filed a motion that the lawsuits should be dismissed outright. This could be pretty important if it goes forward. Just ask the NFL.

Some notes from ROH's recent live event in Indiana:
- Tim Hughes worked the show, losing to Michael Elgin. He's worked a number of ROH shows in the past six months or so.

- Kelly Klein beat Solo Darling. Kelly has worked a handful of dates for ROH lately.

- Ken Phoenix lost to Adam Page. I can't really find any info on him.

- Kazarian and Chris Sabin helped Adam Cole beat Alex Shelley, so the Sabin/Shelley angle is continuing.

Some notes from WWE's second Indian show:
- The first scheduled singles match featuring Indian talents was turned into a tag match, with Gable and Jordan losing to the home-country duo.

- Darren Young beat Tyler Breeze one-on-one, then Titus beat Tyler after Breeze demanded a second match. No tag match for PTP this time.

NXT had to delay their afternoon show in Chicago due to a problem with the heating at the venue. Finn Balor talked to all the fans in line, thanking them for coming out and asking them to be patient. That was a good move. Hopefully it all paid off in the end, with the show being worth being in the cold or things warming up.

Update: Doors opened about an hour late. It was said to still be quite cold.

Update: Balor took pictures with fans and did the "Bullet Club" (Kliq/nWo) hand symbol to them, too. That's pretty cool.

Some notes from NXT's afternoon show in Chicago:
- Bull Dempsey got a Happy Birthday song from the crowd.

- Alexa worked the show, but Blake and Murphy didn't. Interesting we haven't seen them lately on any tour (or TV). I do think them getting some retooling in the WWEPC is a good move.

- Lots of Bullet Club chants during Balor's match. If Nakamura, Styles, Anderson, and Gallows don't end up coming to WWE, there are going to be some really upset fans. WWE teasing it hasn't helped in that capacity.

- After the main event, Finn thanked the crowd and Zayn put Finn over on the mic. I hope Zayn and Balor have really bright futures on the main roster, starting in 2016.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'd create Thumbs Up Wrestling, the first-ever fully-interactive wrestling promotion. Every match is just spots thrown together until the "THIS IS AWESOME" chants turn to "boring" chants. The wrestlers are just there to indulge unrelated chants/singing amid their cool dives to the outside/stereo striking moves. You get the idea.

2. I think both of those choices are worthy. I think I'd go with Jacqueline, and maybe save Vickie for the next year they're in Texas. Since Vickie's still pretty recent, I think they can hold off a little longer on putting her in.

3. I don't see it happening until Hogan's reputation in the public recovers. So, yes, once the Gawker lawsuit is over and out of the public's consciousness. Then it will be a case of how much WWE needs him and what his reputation looks like. They don't want "Hulk Hogan, the guy who said racist things on a sex tape." They want Hulk Hogan, the American hero/icon. He'll have to really rehabilitate how he's seen in the public eye to get back to that status.

4. Absolutely. He was pivotal to putting WWE on the map.

5. So it looks like he might finish up around the time of Payback. That would make sense, as it would give him a rematch to whatever he's doing at WM32.

More wrestling coming up.
