Batista back on live events, Taker surgery mentioned, Interview with Scotty Riggs, WWE and TNA live event notes, Naomi update and Questions on Vince's sense of humor, going PG, Network censorship, pushing Bryan and Taker vs. Brock

Batista commented on his return to live events. He should get credit for doing those. Not all part-timers will do that.

The Undertaker was mentioned in an article about hip surgeries. Taker's not going to last forever.

Here are some highlights from a recent Scotty Riggs interview. I think it's fair to see Bischoff as more of a businessman than a booker. That's not necessarily a bad thing if the right people are booking the angles and the businessman sticks to the business side of things. I agree with Russo on things needing to be about more than wrestlers having matches, but he went WAY too far in the other direction with "breaking script", crazy gimmick matches, etc. I would say Bischoff had long-term ideas for nWo vs. Sting and for Goldberg's streak. Unsurprisingly, those fresh takes on performers and fresh performer in Goldberg's case helped spark WCW's boom period.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

This weekend's WWE live events, in addition to featuring Batista beating Alberto Del Rio, featured a segment with Kane wanting Daniel Bryan to apologize leading to Bryan attacking Kane. Bryan vs. Kane is a great setup for Bryan vs. HHH at Mania. Bryan can "awaken the beast" leading to the two of them going at it on Raw.

Naomi will likely miss 4-6 weeks due to her injury. No surgery will be needed, but she's not allowed to fly. That knee from Aksana was BRUTAL. I wish Naomi a speedy recovery.

For those who want to see what attendance at TNA live events looks like these days, a Twitter user has you covered. I'm sure TNA would love for that arena to be full. Ratings seem to be doing well, but live events are still a problem attendance-wise.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. The sad thing about WWE's place at the top of the wrestling food chain is that Vince and company can alienate a whole lot of people and still be wildly successful. If Vince wants us to see Cena, Orton, Big Show, HHH, etc. and no one forces him to change things up through declining business, he'll probably keep doing whatever he wants. I don't blame Christian for leaving again. WWE definitely has a group of people who are going to have guaranteed spots for seemingly a long period of time.

2. WWE's got a pretty wide audience demographically, and a lot more business deals they might not have gotten with an edgier product.

3. I'm starting to think they might still censor some more racy things, but time will tell.

4. I can see Vince reluctantly pulling the trigger on Bryan being champion for real, but I think he's still going to face HHH at Mania. That one's been a natural extension of the angle for a while now. Working HHH at Mania is still a main event (in recent Manias he's held his own with Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, who are clearly main event acts. HHH has been a focal point of TV and has been protected, so I don't see how he's not still a main eventer), just not the position a large number of fans want to see Bryan in.

5. Their answer makes perfect sense to build Taker vs. Brock. I suspect the UFC confrontation will be mentioned or alluded to by Heyman, but WWE generally doesn't show Taker out of character.

More wrestling tomorrow.
