Main Event Reax - 2/5/14, referee autobiography, Extreme Rules location, Diva gets props, former WWE Tag Champion retiring?, Bourne update, WWE looks at ROH, Interviews with Edge/JR, a look at WWE's situation, a look at WCW's '93 and Questions on Punk leaving, a Carter family feud, kicking the dog with JR, Sting correction and HBK turning heel

Main Event:
I liked Miz vs. Fandango pretty well. I think Miz CAN be a good face. They just have to go about it a different way since he is such a natural heel.

I wonder why more NXT performers don't just show up in the crowd with signs in hopes of getting to be on TV. Apparently it's that easy.

Enjoyable exhibition to show what Del Rio can do. Obviously there's a big difference between doing that to Ryder and doing it to Batisita, though.

I think both Big E and Axel are getting more comfortable in the ring.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
A former referee wrote an autobiography. They do more for a match than you might expect.

Extreme Rules will take place in East Rutherford, NJ. I'm not sure what the mixup was there. I hope it wasn't a case of WWE wanting to avoid Daniel Bryan fans in Seattle.

Naomi got credit from people in the back from continuing her match on Monday. That was one hell of a knee by Aksana.

Mike Mondo, formerly Mikey of the Spirit Squad, is teasing retiring. Interesting. I saw a match of his in ROH and was impressed.

Evan Bourne was at the WWE Performance Center recently. I wouldn't be shocked if WWE's just waiting for his contract to expire at this point. It looks like he's going to be lost in the shuffle. He literally hasn't appeared in a WWE ring in more than two years. The fact he hasn't even shown up on NXT TV is pretty telling I think. What could they possibly be waiting for?

WWE shone a spotlight on Ring of Honor. That's mind-blowing. Acknowledging other promotions they don't own isn't generally WWE's thing. Supposedly ECW was going to be moving into a more ROH-like direction when it closed, phasing out some of the hardcore stuff. Perhaps unsurprisingly, there's no mention of C.M. Punk training Seth Rollins. Davey Richards and Chris Hero show up in pictures, though. The mention of Daniels was a pleasant surprise. I wonder if that has any bearing on what he does when his contract comes up in April. A Samoa Joe mention, too? Whoa.

Edge talked about life after WWE. I'm glad he's able to move on from the industry. Not everyone can.

Jim Ross talked about leaving WWE as well. It's really a shame how everything went down with him.

An article looked at how WWE's stories are put together. Not all fans show up to play fans. Some seek to hijack the performance and make it about themselves. All in all though, quite the read. I'm starting to think WWE does need to call some audibles to set up for a new era after WM30.

Vader talked about WCW in 1993 for Kayfabe Commentaries. It's weird to see him without his mask. I like his way of thinking to some degree. I don't like a lot of blood and drugs in my wrestling, though.

It's by no means a sure thing C.M. Punk will be a part of @Midnight. That might be for the best, as his frustrations with WWE could take center stage.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I think they were more symptoms of a greater concern than anything. WWE's booking has favored older part-timers for quite a while now. I don't see a great mass exodus from WWE, but I can definitely see there continuing to be fallout. WWE needs to right the ship sooner rather than later.

2. It would all depend on who Ethan Carter II was and what his role was in things. I think MVP was a fine choice. As for TNA copying WWE, there are only so many angles out there to do. There are bound to be similarities between angles.

3. WWE wanted to put the whole situation behind them as quickly as possible, whatever that meant for JR. Saving WWE's butts in the whole situation was the key goal.

4. Sting hadn't been working a full-time schedule for a while. Full time means working live events. But it's a fair point about Taker only working once a year. Despite Sting working more dates, I don't think he was all that motivated in his last run.

5. I think there was hope for Bryan vs. HBK at the time, but that's not happening now. They played it off more as HBK getting revenge for Bryan hitting his finisher on HHH than anything. Bryan did get his heat back to some degree in the weeks to follow after making HBK tap and taking him out with a knee of his own.

More wrestling tomorrow.
