Punk's replacement, live event notes, Lesnar rumorkiller, Roberts sends a message, Cena hurt, WWE meets the Super Bowl and Questions on unifying the titles too soon, Batista's Mania opponent, not pushing HHH and the Punk situation

Sheamus replaced C.M. Punk on live events. While that likely appealed to casuals, the die-hard Punk fans generally aren't fans of Sheamus. That said, that was probably their best option outside of a Y2J or RVD.

Alexander Rusev beat Zack Ryder on a recent live event. I can see Rusev wrecking some fools once he makes his non-Rumble debut.

Brock Lesnar is not set to return to UFC anytime in the near future. Maybe one day, but he's set with WWE for the time being.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Jake "The Snake" Roberts tweeted about the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman. Drug abuse is all too common these days. It's almost become an expected thing for some stars.

John Cena missed a WWE live event due to an eye injury as seen here. HOW WILL HE OVERCOME THE ODDS!!??

Hulk Hogan and Sgt. Slaughter were part of an awesome Super Bowl commercial. I love Devo! Chucky also made a rather infamous wrestling appearance.

Speaking of the Super Bowl, the Seattle Seahawks played off Daniel Bryan with their big win. That's pretty badass. I hope WWE brass caught that.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I don't know if the World Title could have been seen as having the same prestige as the WWE Title by the time of WM30. I don't know if Batista would be OK with coming back to just win the World Title while Bryan took the WWE Title. I know Bryan's fans wouldn't be happy with him holding the World Title if Batista was WWE Champion.

2. I think fans would be happier with Brock vs. Batista, but part of the audience is going to bury it no matter what. Even if it's Bryan vs. Batista vs. Orton, they'll boo if Bryan's not considered the most important part of the equation. I definitely think Batista vs. Orton could deliver, but it won't meet the expectations of fans who want to see Bryan go over big that night.

3. That would be hilariously ironic. I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen down the line. Just imagine when Cena and Orton become part-timers and still take over.

4. I've heard something along the lines of "HHH is an 8 or 9 booked like a 10 and that makes fans see him as a 6 or 7." HHH might not be Taker, but he's still a big deal. I don't see him going away anytime soon. I've often heard it said USA Network is the force behind so much McMahon family on TV, so maybe if they change networks we won't see him as much. I can see him staying behind-the-scenes more once Vince is out of the picture, but he'll definitely be around while Mania season is in full effect.

5. Maximum Oversmark has been achieved. It's not a work.

More wrestling tomorrow.
