Read on for my thoughts on last night's Impact Wrestling.
TNA continues the string of "everyone's angry at everyone" promos. It's like no one can get along in this promotion.
Putting Eli Drake in the World Title picture is an interesting move. He's certainly moving up in the world of TNA.
- Lashley/Drake vs. Galloway/EC3:
Galloway always goes all out to destroy his opponent.
That was mostly good for the time it had. Nice action.
I'm interested to see where Lashley goes after presumably beating Galloway again. If he beats EC3, it's pretty much just the Hardys who can believably beat him.
Decay is SSSSOOOOO Goth and edgy it hurts.
I don't care much about Bram vs. the Decay because they're all so unlikable. Obviously Bram shouldn't be kissing puppies and all that, but he's hardly someone to cheer for.
I can only imagine what the BFG main event will be considering they're already working toward Lashley vs. EC3. I don't see how they'll put off Lashley vs. Jeff and Matt until October.
- Jade vs. Marti:
Marti didn't really plan out the whole "attack Jade" thing. All it's getting her is an ass-kicking.
HOLY SHIT what an electric chair spot.
That was OK to keep the feud going. I wonder what Rebel thinks about all this.
I kind of want to see Bennett/Maria vs. Corgan/Dixie for the trainwreck aspect of it.
I guess Lashley has some master plan for next week.
I like Maria crying bloody murder about the slap last week.
I guess Corgan and Dixie are going to be the Shane and Stephanie of TNA now.
I like the tease for Destination X. That should be an important event for the company.
- Bennett vs. Edwards:
Funny spot with Edwards unable to do a stereotypical X-Division move.
Eddie's pretty much Wrestlebot 9000. Knows a lot of good moves, but has no charisma or personality.
Well that was a quick title reign. It makes sense in the bigger picture of getting Bennett a world title shot, though.
Oh no. Are they going to split the Bro-Mans AGAIN? Already!?
Balam was oddly OK with giving up a shot in TNA in order to make "$50 a night." What does that say about the state of TNA? He must figure he's got a good chance in the CWC.
- Sutter vs. Spud:
I enjoy Spud a good deal. I hope he's got a good future in the wrestling business.
That was fun for the time it had.
Fun post-match to give us a Sutter/Spud feud.
Wow. They're not wasting any time getting to Sienna vs. Gail. That's pretty much the only big match left in the division.
- J. Hardy vs. M. Hardy:
Well they're starting off pretty hot!
You know your feud's gone as far as it can go when you have to combine a cage match AND a TLC match to end it.
These two are just killing each other.
This is pretty wild.
The big Swanton should have ended the match. If that doesn't put Matt away after two Twists of Fate, what in the world can?
That was a CRAZY ending. If you like hardcore matches, this one's for you.
