Superstars Reax - 6/4/16, NXT injury, Ali remembered, ROH+NXT+WWE live event notes, preparing for Takeover, top AWA shows on Network, another match for Cody, Brock appearing for UFC (!), and Questions on B-shows after the brand split, English the actor, more vintage promotions on the Network, and little wrestlers

Superstars:
- Paige vs. Summer:
I hope this isn't just a comedy match. Both are capable of more.

I like Paige's mean streak.

I enjoy Summer's intangibles, taunting her opponents and the like.

That was fun for the time it had. The outcome was never really in doubt, but these matches are always pretty much just filler.

- Swagger vs. Viktor:
Konnor's suspension is up in a few weeks for anyone wondering. I think he's eligible to come back right after MITB.

I'm liking this action so far.

Good strategies employed here.

This is heating up pretty well.

Viktor put up good effort in defeat. Swagger's always bringing solid action.

***********************NEWS BEGINS BELOW THIS LINE*************************

Elias Samson suffered an ankle injury during an NXT live event. His match was stopped and he was helped to the back. Samson was later seen using crutches. Hopefully he doesn't miss long; he's been gaining traction as a regular on the brand.

PWInsider.com looked at Muhammad Ali's interactions with the wrestling world following the boxer's passing. The man absolutely belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame.

- WWE.com issued a statement on Ali's passing, acknowledging his impact on the business.

Keith Lee and Shane Taylor, the Pretty Boy Killers, took a DQ loss to ANX at a recent ROH live event. They've worked live events and dark matches for ROH on a fair number of occasions in the last year, so they could end up joining the roster on a more regular basis.

NXT Takeover: The End will have a one-hour preview show Tuesday and a half-hour preshow before the event itself Wednesday. I wonder if we'll get a surprise preshow match.

WWE is beginning to add AWA supershows to the Network, including Wrestlerock '86 (of Wrestlerock Rumble fame) and Superclash III.

In the latest BAMF split-up news, this weekend Alexa Bliss was in Florida in a triple threat with Asuka and Nia (Asuka won) while Murphy was in Tennessee losing to Nakamura.

Cesaro vs. Primo and Karl Anderson vs. Jey Uso happened at WWE in Texas. Interesting they didn't do tag matches with any of the tag wrestlers.

Cody Rhodes will face TNA's Mike Bennett in Massachusetts on August 26. Each man will be accompanied by their wives. Cody vs. Bennett at BFG would be great for TNA, even if they just get Cody for that one match.

Brock Lesnar will be competing at UFC 200. I did NOT see that one coming. No word on if Brock has been training for this for a while and UFC's kept it under wraps (in which case, bravo UFC for the surprise) or what the case is, but UFC using a WWE superstar to put together a fight with about a month of build is completely out of left field.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I think it could be a case of each show featuring some matches that are Raw superstars vs. Raw superstars and some matches that are Smackdown superstars vs. Smackdown superstars UNLESS it's easier just to tape one show in entirety before Raw (featuring just Raw names) and one show in entirety before Smackdown (featuring just Smackdown names).

2. I can't find anything regarding him actually working Broadway. I think he does have a stage acting background, though.

3. If there's big demand for it (compared to more WCW or whatever else is next on their list to add), we could see more added soon. I definitely think more AWA content will be added; it's just a matter of prioritizing what they think people will watch.

4. Yes, but it might not be as high on the priority list as getting more WWE/WCW vault content on there. Once they get a lot of that stuff uploaded, I think they'll add more things from more niche promotions (as far as today's audience is concerned).

5. The '80s were a fun time...

More wrestling tomorrow.
