Sean Waltman discussed the new NWA and talked to Scott Norton on his latest podcast. Whoa, a veteran wrestler actually turning down bookings because he's not sure he's in good enough shape for that spotlight? That's refreshing!

WWE's Hidden Gems section has added:
- Lou Thesz vs. Wild Bill Longson from Texas Rasslin' in 1952
- Karl Gotch and Rene Goulet vs. The Rugged Russians from WWWF in 1972
- Danny Hodge and Jos Leduc vs. Pak Song and Toru Tanaka from Championship Wrestling from Florida in 1974
- Nobuhiko Takada vs. Athol Foley from Stampede Wrestling in 1983
- Billy Robinson vs. Rick Martel from AWA in 1984

William Regal put over MYC's Meiko Satomura vs. Mercedes Martinez. It was definitely a heck of a match. I hope both talents get further work from it.

Liv Morgan has been cleared to return to wrestling. She will compete at Super Show-Down. I'm glad that didn't turn out to be worse than it did.

Fighting Spirit Unleashed drew just over 3,000 fans in a venue that seats around 4,300. We'll see if NJPW makes changes going forward with their U.S. touring as a result.

Death Before Dishonor drew 1,600 fans. ROH previously ran a 900-seat arena in Las Vegas, so that's got to be seen as a plus despite this venue holding 7,000. For whatever it's worth, GFW's TV tapings in 2015 in the same venue drew 3,000 the first time and 2,100 the second time. So, even with NJPW names working the show, they're not at the level of interest that project had when it started. That said, ROH is definitely doing much better business overall than GFW did.

- The next night's TV taping drew 1,100 fans, again beating the 900-seat capacity of their previous venue.

Punishment Martinez is confirmed to be headed to NXT. I'm cautiously optimistic. He's definitely talented enough to do well there.

Tenille Dashwood will miss four-to-six months due to shoulder surgery. So maybe she'll win the WOH Championship at G1 Supercard?

The Crash will run Colorado on October 21. It will be interesting to see how they do there.

Joey Janela could miss more than a year. He's in very rough shape. That's really unfortunate to hear.

WWE has a deal with wXw in Germany, which could mean that company's content will appear on WWE Network in 2019.

Rey Mysterio's WWE deal is for a limited number of dates, which isn't that surprising at this stage of his career.

WWE is trademarking old event names to prevent other companies (MLW) from using them. I'd think WWE would be able to win a legal battle for the trademarks, but that takes time and money.

Goldust is taking part in a horror movie as he recovers from double knee surgery. There's no word on his in-ring future.

NXT TV is being considered to expand to two hours, with Takeover specials also growing, due to the number of talents under contract there. I definitely think they could make it work given all the stars they've got. WWE has been willing to invest tens of millions of dollars into the project in order for those talents to potentially make it back as part of Raw or Smackdown Live down the line, so they might as well, right?

NWA's 70th anniversary event has added Tim Storm vs. Peter Avalon, as well as Crimson and Jax Dane making an open challenge. Road Warrior Animal will be in Crimson and Dane's corner.

Charly Caruso has signed with ESPN. She will continue her WWE duties. That's a great opportunity for her!

- Jonathan Coachman put over the move.

A Roddy Piper comic book is in the works. That could be a really interesting project.

Braun Strowman is on the latest "My Son Is A WWE Superstar." That's a great series.

WWE is officially promoting the nWo reunion event, acknowledging Hulk Hogan as well as the podcast from Eric Bischoff and Conrad Thompson. It's worth noting this isn't something WWE put together. That's a bold move.

Super Show-Down was promoted in Australia. It's a major event as far as audience goes.

Lilian Garcia discussed her podcast on TVInsider.

WWE will reveal their Q3 2018 business numbers on October 25. I expect another big day for their stock then.

The New Year's Eve Smackdown Live will be taped on December 29 in Pennsylvania.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'm not currently planning on covering it unless it has major buzz around it, since OVW isn't nationally televised.

2. It's something being planned given the success of the show.

3. They did what they thought was best in the heat of the moment. Everyone wants the match/show to keep going. It's definitely worth re-examining that philosophy.

4. WWE definitely wants him as a heel. They just don't know quite what to do with him, since he's getting over for what he does outside the normal "formula" of how they want to do the show. The Woken Universe had a similar problem. WWE likes things easy, where pretty much every non-match segment directly leads to a match. Elias' concerts are kind of their own entity.

5. Pretty good unless Hollywood offers him something better to do during that time and he can't do both.

More wrestling coming up.
