Interviews with Ripley/Y2J, tribute to WWE action figures, two ROH injuries, NXT UK angle update, SDL segment and match set, Impact Twitch viewership, Raw live event note, and Questions on introducing NXT names, Impact airing in Canada, Road Warrior Animal, WWE doing more fresh matches, and drastically changing WWE women plans

Rhea Ripley talked after Takeover. She and Toni have definitely made waves.

Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins paid tribute to WWE's S.T.O.M.P. action figures. Fun stuff.

Chris Sabin suffered a knee injury at ROH's Saturday TV taping. He was assisted out of the venue. There is no further word on his status at this time.

NXT UK's Travis Banks was uninjured going into Takeover this weekend. His angle was just a way to put Finn Balor on the show, and Banks returned to action at the next night's TV tapings.

The Miz will throw Shane McMahon a "Best in the World Birthday Bash" on Smackdown Live. Ohhhh boy.

- Carmella vs. Sonya Deville is set for Tuesday's show, too.

Impact's Twitch channel had nearly 20,000 viewers during Friday's episode, a significant gain from before the show was on the channel. Hopefully that number grows in the weeks to come, because that's hardly a strong following that would convince another channel to pick up the series.

Chris Jericho discussed signing with AEW. Wrestling has definitely changed in the last few years with the growth of NJPW/Bullet Club. And I'd be shocked if we never see him in WWE again, even if it's just a Hall of Fame nod.

Flip Gordon was legitimately injured at Honor Reigns Supreme. There's no further update on his status, either. It's definitely unfortunate two hard workers are on the shelf after the AEW departures.

Raw's January 13 live event in Alabama saw Jinder Mahal, Mojo Rawley, Viktor, and Sunil Singh lose to No Way Jose, Tyler Breeze, and The B-Team again. So, Konnor was switched out again. Crazy stuff.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. WWE ABSOLUTELY 100% needs to do a better job of telling us who new faces on Raw or Smackdown Live are instead of just saying "you've seen them in NXT/Japan/other wrestling companies" because most of the WWE audience just watches Raw and Smackdown Live. It should honestly be treated as that talent starting from scratch as far as telling fans who they are.

2. Fight Network (whose parent company owns Impact) airs it at the same time as Pursuit.

3. He's part of the new NWA, managing the team of Crimson and Jax Dane. Like a lot of wrestlers from decades back, there are limited full-time roles for him in 2019.

4. It's easier to tell a consistent story if people are in the same segments each week instead of everything being shifted around to work with everyone else. A lot of TV shows revolve around the same cast, but the writers come up with new things for them to do. I remember reading a casual fan a decade or so ago saying something to the effect of "wrestling is the least interesting part of wrestling" as far as the actual in-ring stuff goes. Obviously WWE has a LOT of very talented wrestlers, but the casual audience wants to know more about who they are and why they're fighting.

5. I think that's overcomplicating things. If Becky vs. Ronda is going to headline WrestleMania (as it very well could/should), it should be for a title, and they should focus most of the women's build there instead of booking swerves that undermine that bout.

More wrestling tomorrow.
