Main Event Reax - 1/6/19, Y2J scalped, more Okerlund remembrances, Drake and Revival feud over Impact, former women's champion retiring, new SDL match, NXT name works SDL shows, another Bella cast member, Omega+KUSHIDA out of NJPW, Impact airing on Twitch, Ibushi missing tour, NJPW retirement, NXT names say goodbye, and a Question on WWE having so many writers

-- Main Event:
- Hawkins vs. Titus:
I want to say Hawkins was 0-248 going into this.

Wow that was really basic. My fault for watching this after Homecoming?

- Revival vs. Breeze/Ryder:
Fine so far.

Now this is solid.

I appreciate the effort here.

Pretty good!

Chris Jericho legitimately had hair pulled out due to a piledriver on the ramp at Wrestle Kingdom 13. That's rough.

Jerry Lawler discussed "Mean" Gene Okerlund in his latest podcast.

The Revival and Drake Maverick referenced Impact in a Twitter spat: Tweet 1 Tweet 2 Tweet 3 Tweet 4 Tweet 5 Firstly, Drake got to skip NXT because they didn't hire him to be a wrestler. And he actually did work one NXT live event for Halloween. Secondly, this would seem to suggest WWE is fine with people referencing Impact now. WWE clearly doesn't view them as competition anymore.

Ric Flair talked about "Mean" Gene Okerlund on Busted Open.

The former Victoria/Tara has announced 2019 will be her last year wrestling. At 47, that's not surprising. She'd be such an obvious choice for trainer/producer if she wanted to go that route in 2020. She's overdue for a WWE Hall of Fame induction, too.

Smackdown Live has added The Usos vs. The Bar. If The Usos win, they get a match for the tag team championship.

Nikki Cross worked Smackdown Live live events this weekend, teaming with Lana against Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. So that could be her destination. That's a pretty odd pairing on paper.

John Laurinaitis' daughter will be on "Total Bellas" as she aspires to join WWE. Oh she's going to get so much flak if she gets signed. Being linked to Laurinaitis AND the Bellas??? Heat magnet.

Kenny Omega is leaving NJPW at the end of the month. He's almost certainly heading to either WWE or AEW. Omega is someone who can definitely make a difference in tickets sold for NJPW or AEW as both look to grow a U.S. audience. I'm sure he can be a big player in WWE, too, but I don't see him being as significant of a catalyst there as he is for the other two options. This is going to be a major moment for wrestling.

Impact Wrestling will air on Twitch at the same time it airs on Pursuit going forward. Pursuit isn't in nearly as many homes as Pop, so Impact is looking for an alternative for fans who aren't going to have the option to see the show on TV. 2019 is going to be hard times, daddeh, if Impact doesn't get a better TV deal soon.

Kota Ibushi will miss the next NJPW tour due to his concussion. He's theoretically another player in the AEW talks.

NJPW's Takashi Iizuka is retiring at 52. He will have an official ceremony on February 21. While he didn't work Wrestle Kingdom 13, he was on the next night's show. He teamed with the Killer Elite Squad in a loss to Rocky Romero, SHO, and YOH.

KUSHIDA will also depart NJPW on January 31. He mentioned wanting to travel the world with wrestling, which adds to the speculation of him joining WWE (likely NXT).

EC3 and Lacey Evans worked their final NXT events this weekend. Both got sendoffs at the January 6 event in North Carolina. It's still unknown where they will be going next.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com question:
1. With as much WWE content that needs to be written each week with so many characters involved, I'd be concerned if they DIDN'T have that many writers working on the details! I concur that the problem is Vince has set the direction to be the same as it's been for 15 years or more.

More wrestling tomorrow.
