CMLL president Paco Alonso passed away at 67 years ago. The Wrestling Observer and PWInsider ran down his career. He was absolutely a prominent name whose influence expands countries and decades. I wish the best for his family, friends, fans, and coworkers.

Jon Moxley donated $5,000 to assist the family of Tennessee's Don Wright after they lost their home in a fire. Great to see him help out like that.

- Tony Khan also donated $5,000. Khan is definitely a huge fan of wrestling and wants to help the business greatly.

Brandon Cutler discussed coming to AEW and more. He joins a lot of names getting big opportunities there.

Slammiversary featured about 1,000 fans in attendance. That's pretty solid for them. It was an incredible show.

LAX's Santana is fine after Slammiversary. His "injury" was just part of the match.

- There are reports the show was LAX's last match with Impact. They remain under contract for the time being, and there continue to be efforts to lock them in.

Slammiversary's pre-show didn't air on FITE. Not sure what happened there.

- The match will be airing on a future episode of Impact, so that could be related.

Impact this week will be something of a recap show ahead of next week's tapings in Ontario.

Kayla Braxton is on Lilian Garcia's latest podcast.

NXT UK's Xia Brookside competed in Stardom this weekend.

The Miz spoke in his hometown.

ROH's July 20 TV taping has added:
- Matt Taven vs. Jay Lethal for the ROH World Championship
- Jonathan Gresham vs. Dragon Lee
- Villain Enterprises (all four members) vs. Lifeblood's Mark Haskins, Bandido, Tracy Williams, and PJ Black

Fight For The Fallen has added the Lucha Brothers vs. Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows had interest from AEW and NJPW before re-signing with WWE. I can't say that's surprising on either count.

Johnny Impact's Impact contract expired a few weeks ago, but the two sides agreed to have him continue through Slammiversary. Both sides remain in contact regarding his future, but he's free to sign elsewhere. I'm curious where he goes next (and what his next ring name will be) if he does leave.

WWE Network is offering former subscribers three months' access for 99 cents total. That's a fire sale. They need to drastically change that department and their approach to it.

MLW is putting together a new in-ring series called Challengers. I'm curious where that will air.

Sasha Banks is advertised for the July 22 Raw, but I'd assume that's a possible mistake rather than a confirmation of her returning then. It would make sense for her to return to help Bayley against Alexa and Nikki, though.

WWE honored the U.S. women's soccer team after their FIFA win.

Brock Lesnar appeared at a Minnesota college wrestling workout. That's pretty cool.

WWE has canceled their Italian events for November 3 and November 4 in anticipation of a Saudi Arabian show in the same timeframe.

Natalya is interviewed in July's Muscle & Fitness, discussing Stampede Wrestling.

Kane discussed his upcoming book. I'm glad he's taking his political duties seriously.

Mickie James had a local interview.

Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, the Hardy Boys, and Charlotte Flair are set for Galaxycon in NC from July 25 though July 28.

New Jack has a memoir coming out November 28. OHHHHHHH BOY that should be fun.

Slammiversary was attended by a number of Anthem executives.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'm sure in the early going we're going to see them use the established names who are locked into long-term deals as the prominent workers of the company. It's not like those names aren't hard workers who weren't top names elsewhere. I completely get where people are coming from, but those names can argue they're the reason AEW exists and has such momentum, so they're going to "bet on themselves" as the featured talent.

2. Vince surely sees that ratings aren't going up with the Wild Card Rule and Shane being pushed so prominently, but I don't see him changing course on those fronts. As for the 24/7 Title, it's been a big hit on social media, which WWE is pleased about. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but it hasn't been a flop.

3. They didn't intend to turn Owens heel so soon, but Bryan being injured made them panic and change plans. We'll see if he's being turned back, and how far they go with it if he is face again. I can certainly see the argument so many turns hurts things, since it's not like people in real life change allegiances that often.

4. Did I miss something? They didn't take a commercial break during that match, which has been the rule.

5. I think we're already there, since it's such a sudden addition of a lot of multiple-fall matches with no on-screen explanation as to why.

More wrestling tomorrow.
