Main Event Reax - 7/13/19, WWE appearances, Interviews with Seth+Becky/Dustin Rhodes/JR, ECW additions to WWE Network, female WWE star hurt, Jeff Hardy arrested, EVOLVE notes, new ROH prospect, Impact taping matches, SDL+NXT live event notes, and Questions on too many turns in WWE, AEW's first champion, Japanese stars speaking English, AEW booking criticism, and Henry's retirement

-- Main Event:
- Natalya vs. Tamina:
Solid enough start.

Fine for what it was.

- Roode vs. Slater:
The 24/7 Division is on display!

Another fine match.

Glad Roode won.

R-Truth and Carmella are appearing on MTV's "Wild N Out" tonight.

Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch talked at the ESPYs. I'd be surprised if we never see Ronda in the ring again.

WWE Network's ECW Supershow additions feature shows from 1994, 1995, and 1996.

Tamina Snuka was hurt at Friday's Raw live event after taking a knee to the head from Naomi. Tamina was helped to the back and did not compete Saturday night.

Ricochet was replaced by Alexa Bliss at a scheduled autograph signing yesterday. No word on why.

Jeff Hardy was arrested for public intoxication and impairment. He was released on bond and set for a hearing July 22if he wishes to contest the charge. That's disappointing. I hope he finds something to bring him joy while recovering that doesn't involve heavy substance use.

Paul Heyman took to Twitter to put over EVOLVE's 10th anniversary before the show, which is run by his ECW protégé Gabe Sapolsky.

- Heyman cut a promo at the show putting over EVOLVE, saying he asked to be at the event.

ROH's top prospect tournament has added Haitian Sensation. I can't find a bio for him.

Impact's TV taping tonight has added Taya Valkyrie vs. Havok vs. Madison Rayne for the Knockouts Championship.

Impact's July 19 TV taping has added Tessa Blanchard vs. Madman Fulton, so it looks like Tessa's going to work with men going forward. She looks credible against them, so I'm good with it.

Dustin Rhodes spoke to Sports Illustrated before Fight For The Fallen:
- I am glad he gets to have this run to "go out on top" so to speak, rather than fading away in WWE.

- You don't "need" a major promotion to get over, but it definitely makes it a lot easier!

- It will be interesting to see how some talents adjust to the constraints of a TV show.

Jim Ross spoke to Chris Van Vliet before Fight For The Fallen. Van Vliet is putting himself on the map lately; I wouldn't be shocked to see someone pick him up full-time.

Shawn Michaels was backstage at EVOLVE's 10th anniversary event. Triple H was in contact with EVOLVE staff throughout the show.

At EVOLVE's 10th anniversary event:
- NXT's Arturo Ruas defeated Anthony Henry
- NXT's Babatunde defeated Colby Corino
- Matt Riddle defeated Drew Gulak
- Adam Cole defeated Akira Tozawa to retain the NXT Championship
- Johnny Gargano closed the show with a promo putting the promotion over.

Daniel Bryan worked his first live event since June 10 Saturday night, teaming with Rowan to retain the Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship over Heavy Machinery. Of course, Bryan has regularly been on TV the past month.

Io Shirai worked her first NXT live event since June 8, defeating Karen Q in Florida on July 13.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. WWE would definitely benefit from having long-term character plans and sticking to them. It stretches believability for so many turns to take place so quickly.

2. Jericho winning gives the title a lot of credibility right out of the gate. As great as Page is and as much as I'd like to see a younger, fresher name, I think it makes sense to focus on the likes of Jericho, Omega, and Moxley as the top names right now.

3. Kairi can speak conversationally in somewhat limited English, but of course has a noticeable accent to American ears. I think Asuka's decent in English at this point, but of course it's not going to be as fluid as her Japanese. Shinsuke can get by. I concur good bookers can get such names over without them needing to cut long English promos. Their skills and personalities are strong enough to showcase.

4. The concern is that The Elite are the executives in AEW and the ones determining who wins and loses. Fans definitely complain anytime someone wins a lot, but it's magnified when those people are seen as being in a position to decide whether or not to lay down for someone. Hulk Hogan and The Kliq got constant criticism for "holding talents back" and such.

5. No, but he made it clear he's done in interviews before that induction.

More wrestling tomorrow.
