Interviews with RVD/Edge, more on Bryan, 2015 HoF names, TNA-NYC notes, Animal comments on Ascension, assorted WWE and TNA press, Raw audience, WWE announce teams change, and Questions on Kong in TNA, Ambrose losing, international WWE commentary, re-booking the Edge angle, and The Authority as the nWo

Rob Van Dam talked about the year 1999 for ECW. Here's the trailer. Can't wait to see that! Looks amazing.

- Ahhh, New Jack.

- It's really scary how many drugs were done in those days.

Daniel Bryan has been added to the live events before the Royal Rumble, working Kane and Luke Harper. He's expected to go work out some ring rust at the WWE Performance Center beforehand. I'm excited to have him back soon.

Update: Bryan has been announced as returning to the ring for the live edition of Smackdown next Thursday. It's happening! I'm excited.

Everything else from wrestling is after the break.

Randy Savage and Ray Stevens are being talked about for the WWE Hall of Fame this year. Absolutely they should put Savage in while the iron's hot. I'm not very familiar with Stevens. It would be good to put Sting in as well since he's from California, but they could hold that off until after he wrestles in WWE if they'd like.

Edge discussed the recent angle with Seth Rollins. I'm in full agreement with him being used to get Rollins over, and can definitely see his criticisms. His optimism about that ending is refreshing.

TNA experienced a number of production equipment problems at the Manhattan Center. These delays led to long delays live. Jeremy Borash stalled for time and the Impact Wrestling theme was played to fill the gaps live. There were also issues with the direction end of things, which was somewhat expected with the director leaving and there not being a live show since June. As a result, TNA will now be doing post-production in Nashville instead of editing the show live at the tapings. I don't know what their production crew looks like after the backstage departures of 2014.

As if all that wasn't enough, there were no screens in the venue. So, fans couldn't see what was happening in backstage segments and pre-taped promos. They probably dropped the big screen to save money, but I don't know if that helped them.

Tommy Dreamer worked the TNA tapings as an agent. Team 3D wasn't there at all. No shock on that second count. The company's probably moving on without them.

There were about 450 to 550 fans attending the first taping of TNA in NYC. Indie shows usually do better than that. TNA's definitely got their work cut out for them in building an audience worthy of a major promotion.

Road Warrior Animal commented on The Ascension promo on Raw. I'm glad he "gets" it. I was all set to write "OOOOOOHHHHHHHHH WHAT A MARK" when I read he commented on it.

Triple H is being inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame. He's got one heck of a legacy when you add in his executive roles.

TNA and Destination America put out a press release about what January holds for the two sides. There will be plenty of TNA content on that channel.

Ric Flair gave a shout-out to the Colts after the recent promo emulating him. It's great people make reference to Flair all these years later. I wish a New York team would emulate Zack Ryder, but no such luck so far.

The most recent Raw did 3.76 million viewers. I think that's a pretty good number.

Dixie Carter and Mr. Anderson talked about TNA at the Television Critics Association. I think it was a valid question about American babyfaces vs. Muslim heels given the Sheik Abdul Bashir character from a few years back. Also, Sonjay Dutt was a guru. I hope they move beyond stereotypical gimmicks going forward.

WWE put out a press release on shuffling the announcers for Raw and Smackdown: I'm not a big fan of a three-man booth in general, but the combination of Cole, Lawler, and JBL has been particularly terrible. I doubt Cole, JBL, and Booker will be much better, but at least it's something different.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. All of the above! She's picking up pay there WWE's not giving her. Good for her. I'd rather watch her in TNA than not see her at all.

2. Thank goodness there was a rational answer here. Ambrose is still treated like a main eventer. I don't think it'd be a stretch for him to be a big player in Mania season just because he lost to Rollins and Wyatt.

3. That's a good question, actually. I'd guess they speak English, although I can't shake the image of Vince yelling in a headset in broken Spanish.

4. That's an interesting possibility. Would the Cenation have accepted Cena letting Edge get paralyzed, though? That's a pretty serious consequence. "24"'s edgier fare than modern WWE, after all.

5. It was a big statement for the heels being back in power. If this happens regularly, it will be really one-sided in favor of the heels, and presumably suck. But as a one-time thing, I don't have a problem with it. I think some people are going to complain about just about anything short of Raw turning into three hours of NXT meets ROH.

More wrestling tomorrow.
