Main Event Reax - 1/13/15, what happened after Raw, Discovery pushes TNA, TNA-UK updates, Warrior honored, Raw photos, Interview with Balor, more on Savage in the Hall, big name TNA wanted, Network-UK update, Lashley injured, why Main Event is pre-empted, and Questions on bringing back the Attitude Era, why WWE used Sting, Batista at WM31, how heels are booked, and The Ascension

Main Event:
Funny enough Dusts promo. I want to see Dusty Rhodes in gold facepaint now. Maybe we get that when this team eventually splits and feuds.

I guess Torito using a move was OK because he was brought into the match? Either way, the Dusts are kind of falling down the ranks. Will they need Hornswoggle as Horndust to even the odds? I actually kind of want to see that.

I don't know how they can get an hour out of the Royal Rumble lottery. A lot of the fun of that match is not knowing who will come out when, and who will be in the match period. But given the situation about the rights to Main Event, they had to do something else in that timeslot. I wonder how an hour-long NXT special or something would have done? Not one on the level of a Takeover special, but maybe NXT names vs. some of the talents we see on Superstars.

It was heelish to bury the tag teams of the past. It's not like those old teams are going to come back and feud with The Ascension, although part of me would like to see Road Warrior Animal team with Heidenreich for a special attraction feud. I might be the only one who feels that way, though.

Good squash match. Eventually this needs to actually go somewhere. Can they feud with APA to avenge JBL's brutal commentary about them?

Gabriel always has good matches. Rusev squashing him was nice. I hope they have big plans for the U.S. Champ.

Rusev's opponents need to get out of dodge once the match is over if they don't want to get further massacred.

WHAT'S LATEST 24 HOUR PERIOD DOING IN THE MAIN EVENT ZONE??? Yeah, nothing to say about that New Day promo.

I liked the main event well enough. I wish there had been a promo or backstage segment from the heels. The idea of that group working together could set up something pretty funny.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
After Raw, Bray Wyatt came out and cut a promo. Dean Ambrose then came out for them to brawl around the building. I think it's significant those two were ending the taping instead of, say, Cena vs. Rollins or Reigns vs. Big Show (or Kane facing either man). Ambrose and Wyatt are outside the WWE mold, so to speak.

Discovery paid for TNA ads during Raw, and ran a lot of ads on their sister networks. It's safe to say TNA is a priority for them. TNA's got to love that. Will it mean good things for ratings, though?

Awesome Kong will be part of the UK tour at the end of January. An Ultimate X match is set for one of those tapings as well. They're doing things right in the wrestling department, as a strong Knockouts division and the X-Division distinguished them from WWE years back.

WWE presented Warrior's wife and kids with the Slammy Award he recently won. They were backstage in New Orleans. I'm glad he got to go into the Hall before he passed.

Here are some live photos from Raw. New Orleans is a good host city for WWE.

Finn Balor talked in the UK. I hope he hits the big time in WWE.

WWE put out a press release on Randy Savage going into the Hall of Fame. I'm very glad to see this day finally coming. I think a lot of fans are, too. I hope Vince buried the hatchet with Lanny Poffo.

Hulk Hogan addressed inducting his longtime rival. I wonder what Savage would say about being inducted by Hogan. Talk about heat.

TNA attempted to get Edge on their debut show on Destination America, following his appearance on Taz's podcast. The assumption is he would have been the new GM figure after Angle stepped down. He wasn't interested. I'm not surprised. That would have been a pretty big get after the big Raw angle, but he's pretty much moved on from wrestling.

Some people are already signing up for the WWE Network in the UK and Ireland. That's going to be a top market for them.

Lanny Poffo talked about the process of Randy Savage going into the WWE Hall of Fame. I'm honestly really surprised he changed his mind. He was really against Savage going in alone for a time there. I remember him comparing himself to Judas if he spoke on behalf of Savage at the Hall of Fame without the Poffos as a whole going in. I can't disagree it's a great day for the fans, though. I'm glad it's happening, as he belongs in the Hall.

Lashley was pulled from a Bellator bout due to an unknown injury. That could mean we don't see him at the upcoming UK tapings for TNA, too. Not having Jeff Hardy on those shows is bad enough. Will they lose the current champ, too? Talk about needing rewrites.

The WWE Network won't be showing Main Event next week due to Sky Sports having the exclusive rights to that series in the UK and Ireland (per their current WWE contract). Until something is worked out in regard to airing it there (or, presumably, blocking it from airing there so it can air everywhere else), WWE is going to hold off on making new episodes for the Network. I wonder if they could do something like Main Event to air in that spot and just not call it that? It's not like it's that different from something like Superstars.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Ask the stockholders if they'd be OK with WWE losing a lot of their sponsorship deals, the deal with Warner Bros., the loss of revenue from "Total Divas", and lots of families who would no longer financially support the product. WWE is a publicly-traded company now. They need to be seen a certain way in the public eye to succeed. The Attitude Era in a lot of ways was the right thing with the right people at the right time. That time period wanted something more edgy and violent. The audience in 2015 probably wants something more in tune with today.

2. Both of those things. They're telling a long story, and it's not over yet. I do think Sting will be involved in bringing those names back, and we're almost definitely in for Sting vs. HHH in some form. It's possible we get Sting vs. Taker, but it would be harder for that to make sense after the Survivor Series ending. I'm under the impression Orton was originally going to make the save that night, but WWE threw a curve ball to get people talking.

3. I don't know why people think Reigns will be booed out of the arena. Is there that much discontent against him in the audience at large? Anyway, no, I don't think Batista's coming back for WM31. But I also don't think we've seen the last of him.

4. I'm glad someone finally asked something like this instead of the 900 variants of "Why does wrestling suck?". I feel similarly to the questioner. That said, I'd also like to see more heels booked like they can win matches in ways other than flukes. Things like interference are easy ways to add heat to a feud, but it's hard for heels to look credible if that's done too much.

5. Their current gimmick seemed to come out of nowhere. It's very different from what they did in NXT, and I also don't see it as being the right fit for them. I guess someone on Creative really wanted to use that gimmick, so they did. Giving it to Bull Dempsey and Baron Corbin as a team could have been interesting. It definitely needs to be two imposing hosses.

More wrestling tomorrow.
